Hi! I'm looking for the best way to freeze some cauliflower I just bought. As I'm only feeding myself, I'm afraid it'll go bad before I can eat it all. I asked the produce person at the health food store where I bought it for her suggestion, and she said 'steam it very lightly, pack it in ziplock bags, freeze.' As I don't know what the temperature of light steaming is and don't want to kill my cauliflower, and I don't have steaming equipment either (when I ate cooked food I never actually cooked it myself I just microwaved everything! lol), I decided to try dehydrating it a little before baggying it up tight and freezing... is that a good idea? how long should I dehydrate it for? Thanks for helping out a newbie! I've been totally raw for two weeks now, started at about 80% raw sept. 5. My main issue, living on a disability check of $500 a month has been how to do this on a budget also. My money may run out but I'm doing the best I can!! Keep your fingers crossed!

Ok, since no one responded right away, I dehydrated them for about 3 hours or so, and they felt kind of warm and rubbery (almost as if I'd steamed them). They looked yellow also instead of white when I removed them, baggied them and put them in the freezer. Any help? Have I killed my cauliflower?
