Im a new member on this site and I have candida and digestive problems badly. I cant seem to gain weight, I have low energy, dark circles and the list goes on. I was told that my liver/colon are congested.

I accidently found out that I was taking steriods to gain weight and I had an ear surgery and had to take antibiotics.

I heard about enemas and taking magnesium oxide powder with lemon every night, goat milk kefir, Virgin coconut oil, vegetable broth, Coconut kefir.etc.

How can i get my digestive system and candida on task?

Just curious. How can you accidentally find out that you are taking steroids? How is it that you don't know what you are taking? Steroids can cause all sorts of problems, one of which is diabetes. I don't know that they will make you gain weight, other than water weight.

And who was it who told you of the problems you had? If they are good enough to be able to diagnose these things, did they not have a solution?

Sory, I can't answer your questions. I don't really have those problems.

I would do very short (half day) fasts, like the lemonade diet, to gain weight, they will clean out your system so you can then assimilate your food right. I would do the lemonade diet in the morning and then eat in the afternoon.

The Lemonade Diet is:
-the juice of 3 (or so) lemons or limes
-a few tablespoons of a sweetner like agave nectar or maple syrup
make this and store it in the fridge and add some to every glass of water you drink that morning (I like warm water so that's why I don't add the water right away)
-add a dash of cayene pepper to every glass.

Info from this link about the ingredients:

"Lemon also helps loosen and break up mucus in the body. Mucus is one of the body's defenses to protect it self against irritations. When too much mucus settles in any one area, dis-ease is the natural outcome.

Cayenne pepper, another key ingredient of the diet, breaks up this mucous and acts as a cleanser for the digestive, respiratory, and circulatory systems. It is used by herbalists to treat a wide range of problems and to enhance the effectiveness of many other herbs.

The maple syrup provides energy from an unprocessed sugar which still contains many of its original nutrients."

I think doing short fasts until you feel better would be better than just jumping into a long fast, for one thing eating will help move the toxins out.

I had very similar problems, except that instead of being underweight I had a stubborn 30 pounds that wouldn't budge. Many of us, including Alissa herself and myself, found that simply eating raw healed candida. Candida cannot survive in an enzyme-rich environment. I tried home-made goal milk kefir thinking the probiotics would help my candida. Not only was it a pain too make but it just perpetuated the mucuous where the candida would hang out in party. I'd truly recommend doing the raw food diet laid out in Alissa's book with a special emphases on green smoothies and green lemonade.
Keep in touch! Lots of support for you here on the board.:)

I had an urine and saliva testing with a naturopathic docter a while back and she asked me what I have been taking for the past year and I mention Peractin. She wasnt too sure what that was and she looked it up on the net and told me. I was shocked of course. She told me that by the time im 40 I can suffer with arthritis, diabetes, cancer, etc. and I was skinny as bone which was funny.

Well I tried this cleanse which made me lose MORE weight. Now I liked the fact that I had glowing skin and bright eyes. I even received comments from others about my appearance BUT I hated the fact that I was losing so much weight. So I stopped doing the master cleanse. Plus I was told that Maple syrup isnt good for those with candida. Its excellent in iron but has sugar.

Im starting to get into green smoothies/vegetable broths which have loads of minerals, vitamins and iron!

Thanks for your advice!

Yes, I heard about kefir. But before I feed friendly bacteria in my system I need to get rid of the years of plague by doing a colon cleanse first then add the probiotics and last- liver cleanse
:)

I fail to see how that is funny.

How did you get the Peractin? Why were you taking it? This just doesn't make sense to me. If she was a naturopath then why didn't she tell you what to do?

I just looked it up and I see something that says Periactin. Could you mean that? If so, I just looked it up. It's an antihistimine. Not a steroid.

A more ideal way would be to get the probiotics from cheap, homemade sauerkraut and miso. Or just the pills. In all honestly, I've had a terribly difficult time giving up dairy, it's not me, it's the candida:cool:

Most people that come here think that they have candida in a bad way (me included) and think that is the first thing they need to tackle.

I have read that candida is native to your body and that you can never get rid of it. It is true that when it is out of control it can kill. I remember one of the first female heart transplant patients in Tucson Arizona came out of the transplant successfully and everyone was thrilled and crowing about it - and a few days later she was dead from candida. The drugs that the docs were using to suppress her immune system from rejecting the heart - those same drugs allowed the candida to get out of control and kill her. The doctors had no idea what to do for it. What you can do for it is try to become 100% raw ASAP. Don't worry about the candida - it will go away if you are raw just as the above poster said.

Being 100% raw will get your candida under control. For many even being just high raw gets it under control.

Learn how to make your body alkaline by eating raw foods and that will heal much of your digestive problems. I have healed much of mine with raw but I still have a long way to go. At least I got off all the stupid medications that I did not need and were only making matters worse!

Well her and I both found it funny b/c yes I was underweight and to find out that I can have these symptoms in the future was shocking. I got peractin from an online pharmacy. I was taking it to gain weight. i did researched and found out that you can gain up to 15pds in a month which was TRUE! Peractin are for patients with aids who has a hard time putting on weight.

The naturopathic docter told me what to do. She told me to take digestive enzymes, acidophilus, vitamins, and liquid chlorphyll. That was all.

I know I need more than that and I researched about colon congestion and enemas. Now I also read on one of these previous post that someone mention how it could be hard for those to gain weight b/c of the toxic mucous plaque.

So I know my theory is true how I need a colon cleanse. I need advice on which are the BEST colon cleanse methods without Pysllium. I hate this stuff.

Thanks

I've quit doing colon cleanses. I'm just letting my body do it with it's inherent wisdom and me not forcing it. Between eating Raw, green smoothies and flax crackers, I'm confident I'm on a healing time table.

I was underweight and I have diabetes. I don't find it funny. I couldn't gain weight. Not at all. I gave up trying. I was up, walking around and feeling fine. Sometimes I think it's best not to mess with things too much. Just my opinion.

There is much controversy about colon cleanse. Perhaps it is like many Rx and unnecessary. I also am not doing it. I had purchased some highly recommended expensive product and it did nothing for me - absolutely nothing. I do not know what that means but nothing extra came out at all except the barely used product.

Do you have the Aids?

Having been both too skinny and too fat in my life I can understand your discomfort with your weight but advise to let your body regulate itself and just eat proper and exercise as much as you can - not to harmful levels. I also did that when I was young and I do not remember how old you say you are (you did not say did you) but my truth is that saying "no pain no gain"? I don't think it is true. I think that every time you harm yourself by overexercising that it comes back to haunt you when you are old with chronic pain.

I read over and over that being raw you will get too skinny for awhile but then your body will build back up and you will be better and newer. At least if you are very thin maybe you have less toxins to release and it may be quicker for you? Wouldn't that be nice?

Im sorry if I offended you-honest. Ive been depressed for the longest.
Im a member on curezone.com and I read from a post that someone gained weight by a colon cleanse, Digestive enzymes, HCL, vitamins, and liver cleanse

On another raw food site I read that raw goat milk w/ kefir helps put on weight, and helps immune system.

I don't think that Kombucha tea is a scam. I have been reading on it occasionally for quite a while and do want to start making my own not store bought. There are forums you can join if you google it and find someone in your area to give you a "scobie". I just am overwhelmed right now with all the things I need to learn in order to correctly make it.

I think it is a real healer because it is quietly done around the world by many people in many cultures so there must be something to it.

Oh this is a vegan site. We are not allowed to talk about animal products for very long except to say that it is not part of this lifestyle. Alissa Cohen created this forum for the Living On Live Food concept that is vegan only. She says that there are other forums for people who want to do animal products. I have absolutely no problem with that as I have learned that animal products cause me physical harm. I am not trying to be critical or make you feel uncomfortable - it is just the forum rules and I am blessed to have the opportunity to be part of this place without paying for it - so I try to obey the rules.

Again, just my opinion but... I think we each have a set point for weight. It's what our body is the most happy at. Some of us are going to be underweight and some will be overweight. I really don't think there's much you can do about it unless you are doing something really unhealthy like not eating enough or eating junk or just stuffing yourself full of food. I don't think there's any one food or combination of foods that is going to change how your are like that.

I agree with you on the exercise. I used to be a dancer. I learned to ignore pain and just carry on through it. Now I am older and crippled and can barely walk. I've learned. If there is pain, stop and rest whatever the body part is.
