I have a shift at L5-S1 the pain has been really bad as of late (the disc there is also horribly dehydrated..

I was wondering if there was anyone else here who has this problem or similar, and if the RAW lifestyle has helped ease the pain. I was also wondering if it would be possible for the disk to become rehydrated.

Hope I don't get in trouble for keeping recommending this site.

www.watercure2.com

On the left side list click on back problems and read testimonies.

Ignore the fact that they are not raw.

I asked them if raw people could drink less water due to the nature of our diet and they said no, we need to still drink half our body weight in ounces with the sea salt in it.

I have noticed that people who knock the water cure never mention the salt part of it. They always go on and on about how people have died from drinking too much water and ignore the whole formula.

Yes, I have it!! Apparently I fractured one of my vertabrae in three places when I was a kid, 12 or so. I fell a year ago last July and because it was weakend from the old breaks it slipped out af alignment. From July thru Jan. was brutal...went to a regular Dr. first who put me on narcotic pain meds and muscle relaxers which were horrible and really did not touch the pain...I had nerves being compressed in my legs and could hardly walk...the pain in my legs was aweful...the muscles in my thighs and calves would clench and not release...I finally went to a chiropracter and after anumber of months had some relief. I can go months now without a bad episode and then all of asudden wham.....had a terrible one week bout of pain last week. I haven't been 100 raw long enough to see if it will make a difference. But getting the extra weight off my body can't hurt.
Mine is in the 5thL...not much deterioration of the disc. Wishing you some relief...it is a terrible thing. The Dr. says mine is fairly stable but I am always aware of my back...it always hurts on some level and I have lost so much muscles tone in my legs due to forced inactivity...need to seriously work on regaining it.

Hi there,
This is just a suggestion but I think 100% raw will be amazing for your healing but also LOTS of green juices (veggie based like cukes, sunflower sprouts, celery, tons of greens in it too and trying at least 2/day). I have heard that garlic (and a ton of it) can be extremely beneficial.
I wish you all the best and that you are healed quickly and fully.

Thanks for the great suggestions. It's such a strange thing because lately, since going 100% I have been craving more greens which is not my "usual". I started drinking wheatgrass juice this week and also using spirulina and chlorella and added more whole juices...also started eating sunflower sprouts last week.
I wonder about raw and healing. I totally believe it can heal so many things...but do you think it can actually heal something structural like a slipped vertabrae?
