Hi Everybody,
This is my first post...I"ve been curious about the raw food diet for about a year & I think I'm finally at a point where I"m ready to try it.I'm a little bit overweight-around 15lbs.I gained it over the past couple of years mostly through late night bingeing & Paxil. I"ve been off the paxil for 5 months,& have changed my eating habits.I"ve tried low carb diets like the FatFlush Plan but with minimal success.
I guess what I"m wondering is how you can lose weight on the raw food diet when it seems to be extremely high in fat & calories? Even though it's good fat,it's still fat.I have no worries that I won't like eating this way;the few recipes I've tried tasted amazing-my fear is that it will pile the pounds on me.Has anyone lost a sizable amount of weight on this diet?
Thanks,
Patricia

I've been doing this for 2 months now, although not totally 100% yet and I have lost 18lbs. I have yet to do any kind of excersise though that is in my 'to do' plans. LOL!

Now I have a LOT Of weight to loose so it is coming off rather nicely. Being that you are just a bit over weight it might not come off as fast... then again I know some who had instant results and lost all they wanted in the first 30 days of eating Raw. But they were 100% raw. ;)

GOOD LUCK!

Love,
Angie

Patricia,

Welcome. :)

If you look at the "Home" page, you'll see where it says "journals". Feel free to browse those ~ and the pictures. You'll see some amazing transformations AND I believe many put what they've eaten each day.

Enjoy!

Hi,

The raw food diet is a complete lifestyle change, not just a weight-loss diet. It changes your body composition completely. I've lost about 20 - 30 pounds more or less (I don't keep track that much bc I really wasn't overweight to begin with), all the while eating as much food as I want.

I dont' really understand all the science behind it but I've lost 14kgs on a High Raw (say 80%) over the last 4 months...Not to mention other health benefits & general energy boost.
