I just got on this board a few days ago and I am addicted! Live in Marin County (San Anselmo) married with 2 3rd graders and the only raw fooder in my house although one of my girls likes alot of my "wierd" food.

Sure would like to know others in my area to compare notes and recipes.

Been raw 9 weeks and lost 1 lb per day for the first 14 days. I was on vacation much of that time, brought a blender with me and was more limited on my food choices than I am today. I didn't gain any of it back (wish I could) and didn't suffer too much detox except for the first few days when I gave up coffee (felt achy like the flu). Then a few weeks after that I od' on avocado and thought I had food poisoning but it turned out to be detox as well.

I have so much energy now I have taken up running and I hated running! Also sleep about 6 hours a night now instead of my usual 8 which I needed for barely functioning!

I will look forward to this new way of life.

Cindy

Yes I do have to admit that this board is an addiction.

Hope you can convert your 3rd graders before they get much older!

Welcome!

Welcome! I was raised in Berkeley many years ago ---near the old claremont Hotel. On my next trip to the Bay Area, I'm for sure going to eat at the Raw restaurant in Berkeley. I'm guessing you may have one also in Marin county. True?
Your enthusiasm is wonderful. Have fun with your food!

Hello there!
I am from Terra Linda and moved to Irvine a couple months ago. I will be back in the area around december and sometime in spring and summer and would love to meet you! Maybe a run around Bon Tempe or a meal at Cafe Gratitude. San Anselmo is one of my favorite places to be, just thinking about it is making me miss home. Well it's amazing to hear about your weight loss and your success with going raw and I hope you continue to thrive. :)

Hey, welcome to the Bay Area.

Have you tried Cafe Gratitude (http://www.withthecurrent.com/ds/node/12)? It's an absolutely, fantastic raw food restaurant. :p I've been to the one in Marin several times.

Hi Cindy, welcome! I grew up in San Francisco and just recently relocated to Sacramento. I will echo Rubyred and say you have to visit Cafe Gratitude in Marin Cty or SF if you haven't already. There's also a raw food restaurant called Alive in SF as well. They're good places to take your (sad) friends and family too. Most of mine love it and now they have a better understanding of my raw journey.

Best wishes!

Love,
Crystal

Hey I'd love to join you guys! All us northern Cali folks and anyone who can take a plane ride should arrange a get together at one of the Cafe Gratitudes one of these days. Now that would be so much fun and motivating! :D

Crystal
