I thought it would be fun to know what you guys had to breakfast today or what you normally have:)

Here's my breakfast: Onion bread with veggies on top, fruit salad and herb tea (not raw...).

I had a shake (which is my usual breakfast). This a.m., I threw in there 2 oranges, 1 lemon, 6 to strawberries and large handful of aragula, green lettuce and some carrot top greens. Oh, and also threw in for the time this a.m., 1/2 a cucumber.

Wonderful picture Tanja_swe! Looks so yummy!

I had my usual smoothie, I vary it a bit each day. Today it is banana, blueberries, mango, flax, cinnamon, romaine lettuce. Yum!

We've not gone to the market yet so today so far is organic oj, bananas and kale blended.

Beautiful photo to brighten my day. Thanks! :)

Today I had a smoothie (banana, mango, lettuce, spinach and an apple)

Usually, I'll have my raw oatmeal with chopped apples and/or bananas and orange juice

Today I didn't eat my usual breakfast. I had a banana and some herb tea (114 degrees) as I went out the door late to a meeting. When I returned, I had some raw granola that I'd made with some "milk" made from hemp & sesame seeds blended with pure water.

Usually I have a green smoothie -- then, a couple of hours later when I'm hungery again, I have fruit - whatever I have on hand and as much as it takes to fill me up.

I don't combine fruits & grains except for the occaisonal bowl of granola (which I make with dates & apples). I'm off of a lot of fruit temporarily, though, as I try yet one more way of ousting my long-time parasite from my body

Great picture, rawkinlocs. Very va va voom!

I had my usual green smoothie for bfast: fresh oj, 2 bananas, 1 pear, lettuce and kale, dates (the dates I put in last when I find the greens have made it too bitter).

But for lunch I had a "breakfast" food: oatmeal with banana and raisins. Simple, but filling and satisfying.

Thanks everyone! :)

Hey Swingbolder - did you get your grain flaker yet? If so, have you been using it for your oatmeal? How do you like it? I LOVE mine - the whole family now cranks out their own rolled oats ('cept for my 2-year old, of course!) and we all love our raw oatmeal!!

Interesting post! This morning I had a smoothie: water (1 cup) blended with mixed organic lettuce and 1 1/2 banana. I usually add pear to that but I was out this morning. Miam, I usually give a few spoonful to my 7 1/2 months old son, Arthur, and he loves it!!

I LOVE MINE TOO! What a steal at $24!!!! It's really amazing to be eating oatmeal again!! I am just appreciating the texture of it so much I'm thinking I can maybe experiment and substitute it for the stuff I used to do with brown rice. . . like slice an avocado on top of it and serve with a side of kimchee and dulse. . . Or maybe eat it with a curry sauce and raisins. . . I'm just loving my oatmeal!

Rawkinlocs and Swingbolder, me too! I love my oatmeal! It is so nice to have an "instant food" that's warm and isn't a piece of produce. :) One thing I've found is if I run oats through twice on the "3" setting I don't have to add any nut/ seed milk because it's much creamier, and I don't have soak as long. Must release more of the natural oil?

I read the other day that oatmeal can be added to soups to make them creamy. Since creamy raw soups tend to use SO many nuts I think I'll try that this week with my broc soup.

I was wondering if either of you had tried to make bulgar with the flaker?

Diana, do you use a thermometer in your tea?

Yes, I do and it's very handy (pun intended) since it's attached to the end of m arm! I heat the water up till it's almost too hot to put my finger in it!!

Hey Swingbolder - did you get your grain flaker yet?

Hey, gorgeous, would you be so kind as to give me the info on the grain flaker here to save me from searching through all the old threads since I missed the original one that you must have discussed this on. A way to eat oatmeal again ... and for $24? Whoa girls!!

Rawtruth, here is a direct link to the site where you can order the grain mill (it's so cheap bc that particular model is being discontinued).

What a steal at $24!!!!

Hmmm .... the link shows it at $47.95. Did Swingbolder get it somewhere else, I wonder?

Nope, just yesterday it still showed the $24 price. Wait a few days and try again. This is what happened after I initially placed my order. It went back to $24 after a week or so.

I just ordered the grain mill this morning, (Sunday) and it was $24.00. Can't wait to get it now! I wonder why the price listing would fluctuate?

Thank you again for posting this link, this was my Mother's Day gift to myself!

What the ____?!?!?!!? It's NOT $24 when I click on it! It can't possibly be anything I'm doing -- I'm just clicking on the above link. But ... this is really puzzling. And frustrating since I'm really wanting it now! I guess I'll try again later tonight. Just can't figure out why y'all can get a different price on the same day I get a higher one. Aaargh!

Found out what's wrong!!

Go on and order it. It SAYS $47.97 on the page BUT...when I just went there and clicked on the "add to cart button", once you arrive at the order page the price says $23.95 or something like that.

As you go through the order process, just keep a watch on the price to make sure it's saying $24 (give or take a few) and you should be good to go!

p.s. thanks for the compliments

I had onion bread, avocado, cherry tomatoes, celtic salt.

For dinner I made a big salad and didn't like the dressing I put on it, guess I should have tasted it first!

I got my grain flaker for $24 too. What a great buy! How are you making the oatmeal? Are you soaking it overnight?

I usually have carrot/apple juice when I first get up around 4am then I have 3-4 bananas later in the morning. :) Lunch is usually either guac w/ celery or avo/spinach dip w/ veggies.

I usually have 2 glasses of orange juice.

If I'm really hungry, then I have a banana also.

Did you mean me, Allison? Assuming so...

No, I've found I'm not responsible enought to think ahead to presoak my oatmeal. ;) I heat up water and let it sit until I can put my finger in it. Meanwhile I run the oat groats through the roller twice. I put 'em in a bowl with a some organic raisons, dash of cinnamon, spoonful of honey/ agave nectar and 3 chopped almonds or a tablespoon of sesame seeds. When the water is cool enough to touch I pour it in the bowl, stir, and let it sit for 10 minutes or so covered. The trick seems to be to run the oats through the roller twice. Only once and I get a little gassy unless the oats soak much longer.

:p Hey all, thanks for sharing your breakfast choices. My breakfast choices are not real exciting ;) That is ok, I am very happy with my regime.
Every morning, wether I work that day or not I always have:
Barley Max or other type of live green power upon arising,
about a half hour later I have a glass of psyllium seed,
mid morning I have fresh fruit, fruit salad, or a fruit smoothie.
around noon I have carrot juice and another serving of a green powder.
If I don't get a chance to eat my lunch before 2, I either have another piece of fruit or another serving of carrot juice.
Oh by the way, carrot juice is a bit sweet for me so I add different green vegies.

Rawkinlocs ... thanks so much for posting this! I ran into the same problem as Raw Truth, and was pretty disappointed that the roller flaker mill was about $50 instead of the $24! But I followed your advice (saw that it does come up as $23.95) and have ordered one, as well! I can't wait to have oatmeal!!!! :)

Your new pic is GREAT, btw!!! :)

Carolyn
