elimination problems? I was thinking about how 4 years ago when I was delivering dd the dr couldn't believe how out of whack my hips are. I've been having a lot of elimination/constipation issues for years. Does anyone know if an alignment could help?

Sometimes I feel like my chiropractor can fix anything. It can't hurt... maybe your chiro with some enzymes will be "just what the Dr. ordered" so to speak. :)

YES! I had chronic constipation and the chiropractor totally fixed it. Same with my cousin.

I have been searching an old thread for you and I cannot find it. A former member of this site whose name has mysteriously disappeared had spent years working in the field of chiropractic and had written a good informational thread to guide people in chosing a chiropracter. Apparently there are several schools of chiropractic and some are like miracle workers and others are not and the difference lies in the training they received. I can no longer remember the names of the schools and have even searched off site for you but cannot find.
I know I am not crazy! I know the poster existed! I cannot find her anywhere! Is there something wrong with the function of the search and the members list?
Moderator please help!?!?!

Oh yes I forgot. We had a natural healer out here years ago that I used to go to. I don't know what to call him because he was really different and really called to his field and blended several disciplines in his own way.
He noticed that my stomach part of my intestine would twist over on itself. He knew how to prod around my stomach and untwist it. I would get symptoms of strep throat after due to all the toxins working out.
I have lost track of him for years and can find no-one with his knowledge. That part of my stomach is permanently swollen. It does hurt. It gets numb and tingly and I know there is a problem. I try and try to poke and feel it and possibly do it myself but I have no gift for it and have not succeeded. So I think that other disciplines can also do it if they are so inclined.

mmmm. . . . after my C-section the intern that sewed me back up decided to rearrange my internal organs before doing so. I had many many many problems and had to fight and fight and fight for corrective surgery.

The thread is gone but I found one where the OP made reference to it.

Part way down SchoolofRAWK states that you should find a graduate of Palmer or Life school of chiropractic.
Too bad I cannot find the actual thread because she explains the why very well.

"could i just show up and tell him i want my chronic constipation fixed?"
Pretty much.
Chiropractors rock.
They x-ray you first to see where your vertebrae are at ie. how they are curved (in relation to what their curve should be), whether there is any 'wear and tear' of joints and any subluxation and that sort of thing.
They just fix your spine so receptors are going back and forth from your brain a lot better, easier as well as to all your organs and the rest of your body.
They really are very good.
See how you go.

While I love my chiropractor, last week I took my 11 yr. old son, who had severe pains from constipation, to an acupuncturist. After the treatment, he sat up and said, "I'm hungry!" He hadn't eaten all day. And he was pain free!!! A few hours later, he had a successful BM. Yea!! I hope you feel better soon.

I'm not sure how your health system up there works in terms of getting x-rays, but if you had to pay for one (and generally they only take one front-on, depending where you go) it may be up to 50 bucks? It is the chiropractic adjustments that will get pricey though? Here (AUS), they're about 50 bucks an adjustment. But I guess if it helps the problem then money is not an issue? All I know is that it really helped me and it's even better because they don't try selling you crappy drugs.

Oh! another thing, I know that at uni they get 4th year or final year students to do adjustments for around 5 - 10 dollars, maybe they have that near you too? It's a bit of mucking around trying to find one I guess and I'd rather go to a qualified dude, but just an idea.
