I made Alissa's fettucine alfredo tonight and it includes 2 cloves of garlic in the sauce. I have always loved garlic, but didn't think that I've only eaten it cooked. Wow! does my breath smell and I have a horrible taste in my mouth. Any suggestions....my dh told me to go eat parsley.....?

I find raw garlic extremely powerful so I usually just use 1/2 or 1/3 of the amount a recipe might call for. It's just enough to get some of the flavor and the healthful benefits of garlic without being overwhelmed by it. Lately I've been avoiding it all together as it's been causing some digestion issues and garlic hangovers the next day.

I love raw garlic and I do tolerate it well in RowanC's kale salad (minced). However, like the previous poster I do get heartburn and stomach ache from it however I love it. The Natural Hygiene school of raw food living does not approve of garlic as a food but I am not ready to go there yet. I see that garlic has many healing properties and I love it. My grandmother used to eat it raw all the time and many said she only attained her age because of it.

I eat plenty of raw garlic everyday. Some of the foods I eat just wouldn't taste any good without a generous amount of fresh, raw, tasty garlic in them. I'm sure glad God made garlic. :)

I agree with LifeaGift, Parsley is the way to go. You can add a few sprigs as decoration then eat them after.

As others have said, parsley is the way to go yet, it's actually the chlorophyl that's making the difference, sooo, green smoothies!!! Add the parsley!
