Ok, I am totally new to this so please forgive my lack of knowledge.
I know that soy is a no no...I cheated with it yesterday (since I have some I figured I'd just finish what was left)
My question is spices..what kind of seasonings can I use..seriously I don't think I could give up curry..is that ok?

I'm only speaking for myself here, but I use all spices. You'll find different people view spices differently. Some don't use any, some do. It's all a matter of preference, really. I don't blame you.....I looooove curry too! And garam marsala. And cinnamon....oh, I could go on and on! I say, if you love it, it's not going to hurt you, and if it makes food more palatable, then hey, go for it!
But again, just my two cents!

Alissa uses curry in some of her recipes. Don't get super wrapped up in being "perfect". Do what works for you, k?!:D Get Alissa's book and DVD if you haven't already. They make raw TOO easy!:D
I agree with Shell. I use spices as well and many on here do to. It is up to you though what you want to do. Many raw recipes call for them to help flavour and liven up the food!

I couldn't give up curry either! Well maybe I could.. but I wouldn't be too happy.. There is a broccoli curry recipe floating here somewhere.. check it out.. mmmmm baby!! :D I love herbs that are fresh.. but dried ones are quick to have on hand for when you can't make it to the store. I love Basil, Black pepper, Sea Salt, Olive Oil, garlic, onion, Turmeric cloves and more!

Yes, it's up to you, especially if you're transitioning or just going 100%! Try to get organic spices though if you can. Usually those are not irradiated.
