Is soy's reputation resurging? Is soy getting rehabbed?
I noticed on Newstargets list for healing conditions soy was listed as number one for healing osteoporosis.
Not very long ago soy was thought to inhibit absorption of calcium possibly due to the element of it that is very similar to estrogen?
So on progesterone creams for osteoporosis I purchased the product that did not contain soy isoflavones.
Today I saw in a health magazine (current) that soy is wonderful for so many conditions ranging from weight loss, osteoporosis, averting breast and lung cancer, reversing endometrial cancer and helping to reduce bad cholesterol.
So has there been some new research that has caused this flip in reputation of soy?
Other than edamame, how is a raw foodist to get the benefit of soy mentioned above?

I avoid soy like the plague. I believe that it is being marketed so strongly because sales have suffered greatly with recent research. Also, remember to pay attention to who is sponsoring the research from the articles you are reading. A lot of them are very biased.

Hi Dr. White!
Exactly. This is why I was so shocked to find soy on Newstarget's list. Not only did it occupy the top spot - it also occupied the last spot.
Guess I will just keep my eyes out for new research or get disgusted at the corruption taking advantage of people who did not hear the message before - not faulting them, they probably just did not have the health problem at that time and so just let it go out the other ear.
Thank you for the confirmation . . . I thought I had missed something or was losing it.
I just wanted to trust Newstarget and now I see that I cannot.

soy is so genetically modified... I guess that just the fact that it is resistant to roundup and has digestive inhibitors is enough to keep me away from it. A friend and I were in a car for several hours. I was the passenger and took that time to peruse some soy information. Just the marketing of it was very disturbing. Absolutely every avenue of marketing was utilized.

Apparently Soy is not as healthy as it was once believed to be. I doubt soy is raw either.. and soy may have many chemicals in them. Organic eating is a sure thing if your concerned about whats in your food.

I can't remember the company off of the top of my head, but they are a well known company in organics that starts with the letter"M" that is a huge produce grower of soy. They fought the consumer labeling act for GMO foods stating that the average consumer is not smart enough to know what is good for them so they should not have to note whether it is GMO or not... I'm sure I will remember the name as soon as I click send... "Montalvo" keeps coming to mind, but I'm not sure that's it. I will have the name tomorrow when I get to work.

Thanks, Dr. White. You've comfirmed my suspicions all along.Soy is BAD!!! I used to eat a ton of it, then I started doing research and I realized it affected my thyroid gland. So now, if anyone asks me about soy, I tell them to do the research. Soy is not the good food people think it is!!! Sciencegal:D

Monsanto?
Thanks for the validation all!
I was starting to think that the whole issue had been revisited, restudied and revised but NOT!
Resistant to Roundup and digestive inhibitors cures me of going there! yech!
It is difficult to do all this learning. It is time consuming and many people either do not have or cannot make - the time. I was just talking to someone from my work. She had surgery for throat cancer earlier this year and is waiting for gall bladder surgery. I tried to encourage her to come to internet to learn other options and told her some of what I have learned this past year. She was resistant and fatalistic. She knows she eats junk but is unwilling and too exhausted to make the correlation and work on it.
So I see room for many more raw coaches who are willing to listen to people's individual problems and give them solutions from their reservoir of hard-won knowledge.

Hi I avoid soy at all costs now cos its GM food & i dont trust even so called organic soya either. It isnt a food our ancesters were able to pick off a tree & eat so cant be as healthy as advertisers want us to believe.

Yes, Monsanto! They are my least favourite company when it comes to legislation about our food. They are always on the opposite side of the natural realm and do not want consumers to have rights.
I had a client that actually burned out her thyroid drinking soy shakes to loose weight. She is a mess.
