RawPriestess started a thread on abundance yesterday ( http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3712 ). A couple of people supported it, a couple listed their own.

I think many are embarrased to admit their abundance so, here's a bit about it.

You may have heard the saying ~ You get what you focus on.

Well, most focus on the bad ~ which is why I started an "Appreciation" thread ~ to encourage folk to focus on the good. That's rolling along nicely now. Focusing on abundance brings it up a level in my opinion. Money and abundance are two things folk are afraid ~ for the most part ~ to acknowledge ~ and even to have. They see these threads and think IF they acknowledge these things, they'll disappear ~ or, they may think they have so little, they feel silly acknowledging those things. Well, again, what one focuses on, one receives. Focus on the good; focus on the abundance you (yes, YOU) have created ~ and the more you'll receive.

Thing is, we all have limits ~ upper and lower. Bo has been wanting me to write on this for some time now. If you really look at your life, you might notice that, you have a certain limit in your life to how much you will allow yourself to have ~ or not have.

For the lower, most people here will not allow themselves to get to the point of homelessness yet, they will say they are "broke". IF they really look at it, they are not "broke". IF they walk around and touch each piece of furniture, each thing in the cupboards of their kitchen, the car on the street or in their garage; the job they have, the place they live, they can begin to realize their abundance. They are probably never without food; they probably have a 'puter (although I kow of some who use the library); they have the funds to purchase the necessities. ALL of this, they have created. IF they can create this much, they can create more! One way to do this is to acknowledge that it was they, themselves, who have created this! (yes, you can acknowledge any deity you choose and thank for their assistance yet, YOU are the one who took the steps needed to ~ get the job you have; get the residence you have; purchase the food, etc.).

In order to have more abundance, one needs to acknowledge the abundance they now have AND raise their upper limits to what they can allow themselves to receive. How to do this? Find out how you, yes, YOU are stopping it from happening. I found, at one time (actually many times) that, when I held on to my last $20, thinking that's all I had, that, as soon as I let it go, more came in. Maybe you've heard the saying "Let go, and let God"? Well, basically, one has to let go of a lot of pre-conceived ideas and open up to what the universe can give.

People will say ~ Well, that's o.k. for you to say. You have this, and that and you live this place and blah, blah, blah. Well, now we know how THEY are stopping themselves. They have their "buts" in the way. Get your "buts" out of the way. They are stopping you having you from having what you say you want!

Another thing is, I've heard many talk down folk who are rich. Soooo, if you ever get rich, you going to talk yourself down? How about celebrating the abundance of others? How about acknowleging your own abundance? Sure, you may not have millions of dollars yet, if you are healthy, if you have folk who love and support you, if you are still breathing and still have opportunities, then you have wealth!

I have a friend who told me recently he has $375,000 in cash. He slowly raised his upper limits of what he would allow himself to have. At one point, $10,000 was his upper limit. (For many, $1,000 might be extravagant). His friend is a mult-millionaire. His friend is focused on traveling, drinking, gambling. My friend is focused on living the good life ~ writing his book; being with his two women (yes, abundance); teaching others to celebrate life. Now, which to you seems wealthy?

Here's little trick I learned in order to have more $$$. I had an upper limit. So, I found, it was easy for me to gt $500. IF I went much above that, I'd have to spend ~ not circulate ~ it to get it back down to where I was comfortable. So! What I did was, when I got $500, I would put it in an envelope and put it away where it was pretty much not seen. Then, I'd start another envelope. When that got to $500, I would add it to the first ~ and start over. Before I knew it, I was up to $12,000 and had the funds to purchase a really good used car which I still have 6 years later. (It's got 0 problems so, I really LOVE this car!)

So, where does the original $500 come from? As soon as you receive some $$$. ANY money! From work, from selling something ~take 10% of that and put it in the envelope. Then, take 10% more and give it to ~ whoever ~ place of worship, animal welfare....etc. The rest is yours. You will not miss that 20%. You will find that you can live quite well on what is left. Folk don't realize that they usually piss-away (yeah, well *shrugs*) more than that on stuff they don't want and which truly isn't going to enliven them.

One last word ~ spend. When one "spends" money, look at the last 3 letters of the word "spend". That's the end of it. Now, look at the word "circulate". What does that put in your mind? Circular motion? I only use cash. In exchange for my cash, I receive something else. It's a cycle. IF I do this consciously, it's an even exchange and I have circulated my $. If not, then, I've spent it. It's gone, it's ended.

Many folk use credit cards. They give some plastic then receive their purchase. Months later many are still paying for that purchase yet, the excitement of having it has gone. Oftentimes, IT's gone! (for whatever reason), yet, they are still paying for it because they over "spent"!

Enough for now ~

too true ! I an lucky to have parents that support me financially (even if thats the only support I get from them), yesterday an attorney opened fire ata companies firm and killed another lawyer ,then himself -he was supposed to be hired for a temp. job but had recently been laid off and brought enough ammo for a small massacre...........its sad , when I think about how this guy could have found another job -and if he had asked for help he would have probably gotten it -people are so touchy about money ,yet people are willing to work themselves to the grave to get it.

Great Idea about the 20% thing !

This is right on the money! ( LOL! )
Great post Revvell!
I did this when I started my photo business. Using the power of intent.
But needed to her this again....
Love the envelope idea.
I know how to manifest yet when it comes to financial management I fall into old behaviors a lot. spend - end. exactly.
this has been a very difficult month financially - and yet next month is when all the payments come in for my wedding season. riding the wave of the money flow and learning to be happy no matter what the numbers are.
I like the idea of creating my upper limit. I don't even know what mine is!
I know what I want to make with my business and I haven't gotten there just yet.

Wow Revvell-that was very, very well written.
There are a lot of spiritual truths in your post that I have been ignoring and I thank you with all my heart for reminding me, as I sit here today wondering if we will have enough money to move to Montana next week.

Divine abundance is ours, IF we accept it. There is no lack. I needed the reminder and I am grateful you were inspired to write this.

"if we want to keep the blessings of life coming to us, we must learn to be grateful for whatever is given."

"The Holy Spirit will give us all that we need. First we must learn to expect the best in life, and be willing to plan and work for it. Second, we need a clear mental picture of what we desire. Third this picture is to be maintained constantly, with the certainty that Spirit will supply any rightful desire. Fourth there must be gratitude for every good thing received."

"Creativity, bountifulness, and gratitude go hand in hand."
I read these quotes today in a book called "The Language of Soul" by Harold Klemp. Thought they fit in with what you shared so thought I would share too.

An abundance of sharing! :)
We are all so blessed

Catherine, Hi!!! Glad to see you posting again. :)

We've all GOT upper limits ~ no creating to do! What we must learn to do is break on through to the other side! My mentor who taught me much of what I know ~ and who got me to this point ~ (after 16 years or so of being dragged kicking and screaming ~ sometimes literally), had LOTS of abundance and even HE is having seconds thoughts right now. His friend, who is a multi-millionaire offered to purchase him a house. He turned it down ~ didn't even go looking. When he came over here last week he said, after seeing our home, that he's sort of sorry he turned the offer down ~ without even really considering it. Upper limits question as his friend had been giving him all KINDS of gifts. Ah well!

For those who don't know where their upper limits are ~ they are where you are right now! You only have in your life what your unconsious upper limit will allow you to have.

You've probably heard of folk who have been trying to make it in some industry only to finally make it, then ruin it by going into debt, or with drinking or drugs? Upper limit question. Some part of them will not allow them to be successful!

What one needs to do is, face the question BEFORE it comes. What will happen if....? What will I do if....?

IF it happens before one does this, one needs to do some heavy work in order to maintain. I dreamed about this many years ago. At that time, if Bo and this home came to me, I would not/could not have let myself have it or him. I have them at this time, because I did what was necessary ~ mentally/emotionally ~ to have it.

Does this make sense?

Revvell - Man, you touched my heart with this, and this is where I am in abundance. Yesterday, I was writing my new statement -" My inspiration knows no boundaries" with some very specific goals to come forth, and I also started calling those things that aren't as if they are.

I am learning that it is about intention. My intention is to have more than enough to be a blessing to someone else. Thank you - especially, as this has been a week for me, one of challenges, comforts and learnings.

I am reading Catherine Ponder's series of Prosperity books, GREAT stuff. "The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity" is her classic bestseller and as a result, I am manifesting LARGE amounts of cash every day. She quotes the Bible alot, and talks about God's intention for us is unlimited abundance and that poverty is a "sin" (sin really means error thinking in its literal translation) of lack consciousness. WHOA! This is great info. Now I don't have to feel bad that I want prosperity, I don't have to feel guilty anymore because I want the finer things in life for myself (not just things, but prosperity in health, love, friendship, peace, and yes, good ol' fashioned green stuff).
She says essentially that our word is the law unto itself and that whatever we focus on expands, so she gives wonderful affirmations to "speak the word" of abundance, expansion and wealth. I have post-it notes with prosperity affirmations all over my bathroom mirror, I repeat all or some of them every day and magic happens. It's fun to see the results.
I am so grateful for this thread...this is right where my thoughts are lately, I have become a student of prosperity. I am ready for expansion!
Another book I picked up that is a classic in its time is a compilation of 4 books by Florence Scovel Shinn- put together in one, "The Wisdom of Florence Scovel Shinn", they are called The Game of Life, The Power of the Spoken Word, Your Word is Your Wand, The Secret of Success. It was written in the 1920's. I highly recommend it.
Another: Be a Goddess, by Francesca de Grandes, a Celtic Shaman. I just picked it up, so far so good.
May we all prosper,
Lara

Thank you for this post. I'm having a really hard time with this. A couple of years ago I recieved more than I ever even thought to want, all at once, with little warning, in virtually every area of my life, from all sorts of different sources. I hardly had time to get used to one huge gift/achievement when another would come my way. Depending on how I look at it, it's all earned or it's more than I deserve. I mean, I got no inheritances or special favors on the one hand. On the other hand, lots of worthy people work just as hard, are just as talented, etc, but don't get the kind of rewards that I've gotten. And I'm not just talking about money here, although that's present too.

It's hard to admit that all this abundance has left me feeling so confused, and that in fact, I've become a little withdrawn from the world in the last two years, and that worse, I've stopped doing the very things that brought me so much abundance/reward/happiness. I think I think (:)) that I've already had all I should have and to ask for more is just greedy.

Wow, I've never admitted this before. And who wants to hear someone whining about having too much?

Thanks for letting me think out loud, and for any bits of wisdom that follow.

Asil,

What you have just explained is an upper limits question ~ better than I ever could.

Receiving is not just about "deserving". When the sun shines it shines on everyone. Who receives it is the question. Someone who deserves it? No. Someone who is willing to receive it? uh huh!

So, what I hear you saying is, you need to do some work/play with yourself to feel you can have what is available to you.

One thing it seems to me you've not gotten is, the universe is unlimited ~ in $$$, in love, in all aspects. U N L I M I T E D!!!! What does that mean? It MEANS when you receive ~ you are NOT taking from anyone else! It just means you are open to receiving! That's it! IF others who were as talented, gifted, doing the work ~ were open to receiving, they'd have it too!

Here's a lil game I play with myself. If you have all the $$ you want and all the free time you want, what would you do? What I kept finding is, I have (yes, present tense) a hard time playing with ALL I want! I would find places where I'd stop myself such as ~ the car breaking down, having to get it fixed, etc. NO! I DON'T have to get it fixed! I've got ALL the $$$ I want! I can give it away and get another!

Final word for now ~ You do NO one any good by not being wealthy (in all ways). IF you were wealthy, what could you do with the $$$? IF one has to constantly concern themselves with creating income, having enough food to eat, etc., they cannot assist others ~ with time or $$$.

NOW! After you become wealthy, come see me (or before) and we'll figure out how to handle your $$$ ~ cuz, believe it or not, that's the next step. If you read about all the LOTTO winners who have won millions of $$$ ~ and become broke w/in a few years.... Actually, just from what you've stated below, I think you know what I mean. :)

Injoy ~

Hi revvell,

Thanks for the food for thought :). I like this: the sun shines on all of us. So true, the universe was made for all of us, or we were all made for it.

And me being poor, or unsuccessful, or unhappy won't help anyone.

That's a great new perspective. I'll try to hold that thought close, and play around with it.

Hasta pronto!
