What's in a green smoothie?
I see the term everywhere, and I know there are greens in it. I know that they are very good for you, and would like to blend up my own version, with green juice instead of the leaves. (My blender is an x-mart cheapie.) My blender can handle fruit and ice, but the leaves of greens won't chop up enough for a smoothie.
Thanks.

Fruits and greens for me.......it changes depending on what I have on hand, but an example: in my blender: water, handful of baby spinach, some honeydew melon or cantelope or pineapple, an apple, a lime. Blend it all up and drink up! I like the spinach because it is milder than say, kale. I love the lime in it. Enjoy! Deb

That is good to know about the spinich. I just started my 30 day challange and I have made some smoothies with kale and it's just too much for me right now... I think I need a lighter taste to start. I've used celery as well and it adds a good flavor.

We start out with and apple- garden greens and a FROZEN BANANA. Then add just enough water to allow it to move in the blender.
Skys the limit on what else to add, but this is our best start. A cucumber a day is said to be very good for your skin. Next garden season I'll find out.
