Hi all!
I am so glad to finally be 'official' after lurking on this site for longer than I care to admit! I have gained so much knowledge, support and inspiration from all of you here so I'm not sure why I never officially registered before, but here I am! I have been interested in Raw Foods for almost 5 years now. I am one of those on again-off again types who seems to be held back by food addictions/ disorders, etc. 1 year ago I was at my healthiest and at my lowest weight (most of it lost through eating Raw) in about 15 years. I have since gained back 50 (!!!!) of those pounds through backsliding into cooked foods, junk foods, overeating, emotional eating, etc. The longest I have done Raw is 45 days in a row and I have never felt better, EVER. I have also done many 10, 20, and 30 days and I always feel SO GOOD when I eat this way. I love preparing Raw foods and have many, many Raw Food books, including Alissa's. I LOVE RAW!! It's always that moment of weakness that gets me, when I tell myself I will just have this one thing and go straight back to Raw after... but we all know how that goes....
Anyway, I want to join the October challenge and get myself back on track once and for all. My ultimate goal is a 100% Raw Vegan Lifestyle because I know Raw works and I know that cooked food is just too addictive for me. Not to mention how bad I feel when I eat cooked. I am feeling hopeful and very excited with my decision to re-commit to Raw and about being here!
