I made a raw vegan version of chirashi ,yum!THIS IS FOR THE SUSHI LOVER !

white sweet yams (or see below)
braggs apple cider vinegar
nama shoyu
1/4c RAW wakame or torn nori sheets(soaked until soft ,wakame needs 15 min.)
ginger (or gari) , xtra thinly sliced and marinated in agave and vinegar
cucumbers (or any other veggies you want) ,If your adventurous try mango slices ,papaya ,apple or exotic fruits ,you could also use marinated oyster mushrooms (havent tried them, but hear theyr good) or mock tuna

I put cut white "meated" SWEET yams (sweet potatos or orange yams are OK ,but this was the best rice sub. yet imo) in the food processor and turned it into a fine grain like consistancy -then removed it added a couple of tbs of braggs vinegar put the "rice " in a bowl ,then mix in half of the sea weed sprinkle a bit of the shoyu on top.

then take the cucumber (be creative with it )I cut it into 3 inch long diagonal pieces ,then cut it into 3 inch strips cucumber with and lay them ontop of the rice ,then lays the ginger slices ontop of another area of the rice ,then the sea weed on top of another area of the rice !

drizzle with nama shoyu ,a teeny bit of vinegar and sprinkle sesame seeds and viola -a sushi bowl aka chirashi!

THEN

hmmm ,I got mine at central market , I *think* they are called new jersey yams or new jersey "sweets" -you can use yellow or orange yams -just not potatos ...they typically dont tast good raw.
