Someone I know introduced me to a company called Sunrider that sells all-natural health related products. Not a raw thing, but I just wanted to know if any of my raw friends have any opinions on this.

I have heard of it and am not impressed. Their Slender Health line is soy based and the "Dr" that formulated the product has been jailed for racqueteering. To me, intent is everything when it comes to helping people with their health.

Seems to me that a co-worker was trying to sell that to me. It was a MLM (multi-level marketing) scheme and she had all these tapes for me to listen to. Plus after sitting on my tuchus all day I sure don't need to be sitting around listening to a tape. She is not up-to-date and the product also was not to the teachings I believe in, as Dr. White stated. Plus it seemed super expensive. As always, taking advantage of desparate people.

I started using Sunrider in 1989. Loved it. It's not raw, far as I know.

I am editing my post because I do not want to discourage anyone in anything they want to do. That's just not my purpose or intent in life. That said, I stand by my post and the negative opinion I have of Sunrider.
If your interested in good health keep learning and practicing the RAW food lifestyle.

Here's the thing...the lady who brought this Sunrider stuff to me actually BOUGHT me a membership (for $140) and now I have some samples of their stuff, some of which looks very neat to me. I am a very private person in that I dont want to nor am I any good at selling things to people. I know it is an MLM thing and I am very turned off by that. I figured that now I kind of "owe" some degree of loyalty to her (which I just hate feeling that way...kind of got roped into it since I didnt really ask for the gift of membership). I took a look at the prices of some of the stuff and there is really no way for me to even be able to AFFORD THESE PRODUCTS even if I wanted to! Darn...I feel bad about this.

Huh. Go figure. Must be another marketing ploy - the lady who introduced me to it bought me a membership too! Only thing is, she took all the supplies and sold me something from the packet. So I don't feel bad at all that I'm not active. I should know better than to buy into something like this anyhow.

I kind of feel used...I wonder if it is a common "tactic" to offer to buy a membership for someone in order to get them into it? As it stands I am impressed with the stevia drops and the veggie and fruit wash...the other stuff in the packet I could definitely live without. Still, the bottom line is that I really could never afford (or justify spending that kind of money) on processed stuff, you know? Also, I am just not an outgoing person...not a salesperson either. With regards to the money that can be earned...the people I know are like me. They are just too smart to spend $48.00 on laundry detergent or $30-something dollars on chocolate bars and I wouldnt feel right asking them to abandon reason and sense just to support me in an MLM venture. I guess that is where all of the other people "earn" their money...off of the over-priced products that others are willing to buy. I dont know...doesnt seem right to me.

I'm willing to lay money down that it didn't actually cost her $140 . Definitely sounds like a marketing ploy to me.

I am a strong believer in Sunrider herbal food.
They are unique, very good, but they are pricey as well.
i am not interested in their skin care line and some other sideline products as to their herbal food concentrate.
They changed their policy this year that new members or member renewal cannot buy wholesale right away (more pricey on retail)
If you don't have a tight budget, consuming Sunrider is not a bad choice.
On the other hand, i am still searching the market for
similar herbal food formula (or copycat).
Not as effective does not matter, as long as it is cheaper and very safe like Sunrider as well.
Any ideas? share here or PM me , thanks

O.k., here's the deal. I was a Sunrider distributor/consumer for about 10-12 years. For me, mlm is a great way of marketing one's products. Problem I have with it is when the products are so high priced only the affluent can afford them which is true in this case. I feel the same about Kangen water. It's double the price of the next highest alkaline water system and they only give you 3 days to try it and if you don't want it after that, they keep $800 of the money you gave them.
Sunrider products? Top quality. I loved them when I used them. Thing is now, they don't appeal to me since eating raw. Don't feel a need/desire.
I also got turned off because they kept changing the payment plan. They made it so amazingly complicated so, basically, I just consumed and didn't sell.
Don't know what they're up to nowadays though.

>> they don't appeal to me since eating raw
you still keep the account ?
really wish there are similar alternatives in herb food
Sunrider is good in the products only,
but not good at overall marketing, branding, distributor support and rigid rules.
even good word of mouth will dry up quick
For water, Pi water is the best.

>> soy based
healthy or not is subject to debate,
drop "Nuplus" if it is a concern to you
at least they should be clear on their packaging whether they are using GM soy or not
no "non-GMO" label is a big turn off
as there is no labelling requirement in US, wonder if Sunrider product packaging have GM label or not in other international markets
Both Mainland China and Taiwan, Japan, EU has mandatory labeling requirement. Or they use non GM ingredients only in those markets?

Although it is processed food, i used to pour Nuplus powder directly into my mouth in the past, i can feel it is live concentrate food, not like dead protein powder.
However, i cannot compared it to unprocessed raw food.
And i got a reply from a distributor
>> The soy that Sunrider uses is whole, sprouted soy, not GMO and grown on small farms. All the herbs are cleaned by hand and machine to far exceed any governmental regulations and designations.

My former upline also told me that NuPlus is raw. Thing is, it's no longer whole food, raw or not which is why I'm not drawn to it any more. When eating so much cooked, I really enjoyed it. Now? Nooooo.

>> no longer whole food
to me, Sunrider is
- processed , yes
- whole food , yes
- healthy, yes
- help the body to heal itself, yes
- price , too expensive to afford

Not talking about Sunrider,
i learned before that sprouted soy bean cannot be eaten raw, have to be cooked.

- whole food , yes
whole food? No. Whole food contains the water that came with it. When the water comes out of it, it's no longer whole. If you dehydrate, you're not whole. You're missing an essential part of your being.

I've eaten sprouted soy beans. I'm still here!
