I know a lot of people just have green smoothies or juice or fresh fruit for breakfast. I miss my cereal and milk and found this easy recipe for raw cereal.

1 small Sweet Potato (grated or flaked)
1/4 cup Raw Almonds or Walnuts (chopped & soaked)
1 Banana (sliced)
Almond Milk

Mix first three ingredients together and pour Almond Milk over it.

I like this, and Alissa's granola recipe, but does anyone else do something like cereal for breakfast?

Hi i make a raw museli
Yield one serving
1/2 cup rolled oats
2 tablespoons raisins, unsoaked
1 tablespoon chopped raw almonds or walnuts, unsoaked
2 teaspoon chopped raw sunflower seeds, unsoaked
2 teaspoons agave nectar
1/2 cup hazelnut milk
1/4 cup fresh blueberries or sliced strawberries
place oats, raisins, almonds, seeds & agave in small bowl. Toss gently to combine. serve with nut milk & berries.

If you make a large batch of dry ingredients it can be stord in a sealed container for up to 3 months. Then for a quick & scrummy feast add the agave, nut milk & fruit. Yum!

I might try that muesli recipe. I'm not a great cereal eater but i do like muesli cos it's very comforting :o I've not made nut milks yet. I might save that task for the weekend as I have to find somewhere that sells raw nuts!!!

I've been making something like a waldorf salad sometimes... with raisins, chopped grapes, apples, celery, carrots shredded... to make the dressing (which I mix all the above up in), I just use some almond butter mixed with a few soaked dates, the soak water, and a touch of salt. I put cinnamon on top to make it pretty. :)

Or there's always a couple avocados or a green smoothie.

I haven't tried anything like cereal yet.

Hi Mystic Tree I dont make my own nut milk yet either I buy mine in a wholefood store (Im in UK).
I'm still trying out different milk alternatives, oat is good but cant find a raw version.
Im really glad Ive been experimenting cos turns out almond milk is too sweet for me...I like hazelnut way better.

I've been eating Apple Chowder the past few days and it is DIVINE!

Blend together 1/2 cup raw nut butter with 1 T maple syrup (or agave if you're going for 100% raw). Pour over 2-3 chopped apples mixed with a handful or two of your favorite raw nuts. Sprinkle cinnamon over the top. Mix and enjoy.

I'm not sure I'll even be able to finish the bowl I've got sitting in front of me this morning. Its so rich and delicious!

Here are two adaptations of recipes from Instant Raw Sensations:

Apple Cinnamon Jacks Cereal
makes 2 servings

1 orange
1/4 c. dried apples, cut into small pieces
1/2 c. cashew pieces
1 T. honey
sprinkle of cinnamon and nutmeg
1/2 banana (optional)

Squeeze orange juice with pulp into cereal bowl. Add honey, spices and stir. Mix in nuts and apples. Top with sliced banana.

Sharrhan's Apple Fantasia
makes 2 servings

2 small apples
1/2 c. dried apples
1 handful raisins
2 T. tahini
juice from 1/2 lemon
sprinkle of cinnamon

Dice apples. Cut dried apples into small pieces and soak for a few minutes. Put all ingredients in blender or fp, adding a little water if needed. Process until well blended, but not completely homogenized.

Before I happened upon Alissa's book, I got this breakfast recipe by ask.comming/(googling) for diabetics:

Soaked flaxseeds (they will be viscous! don't be alarmed like I was at first lol)

Almond milk/nut milk, poured over

Add raw honey or raw sweetening if that 'cereal' isn't sweet enough

Sprinkle on organic raisins, organic coconut flakes, etc etc you get the idea

--- Or:

I actually got some organic longgrain brown rice to actually sprout and did the same recipe, replacing the sprouted flaxseeds with the sprouted rice.

Starbuck, thanks for your apple chowder recipe! I made mine like this since I try to be as raw as possible: A quarter of an apple chopped up, soaked pecans (the first morning, dehydrated ones the second morning-- I had dehydrated/dried some), raw honey for sweetening, stirred that in to coat everything, sprinkled cinamon on top and poured my nut milk over. YUM!!! (I happened to have soaked cashews so I made the nut milk out of those).

Does anyone have trouble adding raw honey to things like smoothies and cereal like that? Mine sticks to the spoon so bad and my fingers and sometimes won't stir into the recipe evenly and I hate to waste any of it... so I plan ahead now and run the plastic tablespoon under hot water or place the honey I've spooned into the plastic measuring cup in my oven at the lowest temp (95 degrees?) with door open, and let it soften for a few minutes. Has anyone else done this? I think (hope) I'm not killing my raw honey. Anyway thanks starbuck!!! YUMMMM (I had it once for supper instead too lol)

A great cereal is take almond pulp and try to get it as dry as possible and spoon it onto a dehydrator thickly and it will dry in clumps. Dry for 24 hours. Then put in a bowl with almond mylk and raisins and etc.. and OH HOLY MACRO :D
