Hi,

Have been raw 37 Days and I haven't really lost a lot of weight. I feel better and I definately am not going back to cooked food, but the weight is not coming off like I hear other people describe. I realize I am not severely overweight and only have about 10 - 20 lbs to lose, but it's not really happening. I think I've lost inches, but I'm not sure. I feel like I'm starting to lose muscle too.

The nut of my question is, I work a very physically taxing job (moving heavy objects all day, balls-to-the-wall environment, constantly running around, etc) and I'm wondering if maybe I am not eating enough food. Because I am the only female in my department and I already have to go above-and-beyond just to be accepted by my co-workers, I don't make a big deal about my eating habits. So, stopping to take a 15 min break to eat a pre-made snack so I get enough food is out of the question. My ability to break during the day is unpredictable. What foods should I try to add into my diet? More nuts? More fruit? One person suggested coconut oil which sounds like a good idea?

I'm just trying to get enough food so that my body is nourished and I can lose weight instead of my body going into survival mode and hoarding all the calories i put in it.

Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Although high in calories, I would be cautious about adding more raw fats to your diet just to meet caloric needs. If you're feeling weak and low on energy then give it a boost with some higher sugar carbohydrates like dates and bananas. If you have any excess body fat then chances are good that your body isn't consuming it's own muscle as an energy source, especially if you are using your muscles all day. A good protein and fat source is hempseeds. Afew tablespoons a day will give you all of the "extra" protein and fats that you need.

Just keep at it, and don't be so concerned about actual weight loss. That will come in time. When you are burning fat and building muscle they you may actualy notice that you gain afew pounds or that weight loss seems quite slow. Be patient. Make sure to make a big green smoothie, or eat a large salad full of greens when you get home from work. These will be your prime sources of vitamin and mineral nourishment for the day.

How about keeping a sandwich bag of dried fruit in your pocket to snack on while you are working, and eating citrus fruit during your breaks, I think citrus is supposed to be like gatorade, I read that somewhere.

I think the coconut oil idea was great too.

maybe you need more electrolytes. i find that sometimes it is just salts or celery that gives me energy as opposed to more calories. as far as what to eat, pack a lot of fruits, and make a couple quarts of green smoothies with a few stalks of celery in them.
