Anybody know of a non-chemical way to get rid of them?

I swear, it works. Just cut out the appropriate size piece large enough to cover your spot and change it out as needed until it falls off. :)

Thanks! Too bad DH just came back from Home Depot! Will have to go again! Not like herbs but within my budget!

It reminds me of the movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" where the dad is always putting Windex on everything problematic from household issues to zits!...who knows about Windex, but the duct tape actually works! :)

I've heard of duct tape for warts, but never for corns. AFAIK, corns are caused by ill fitting shoes. If you buy shoes that don't cause pressure, then the corns should go away.

I wear flip-flops most of the time (would rather be barefoot). When I wear shoes I have these synthetic stretchy fabric sneakers with a wrap around velcro stretchy band. The corn does not bother me in flip-flops but does in the stretchy shoes even though they give alot and do not offer the support I would like? I just don't know how I can blame the shoes.

raw-siobhan,

here is a site that I found while looking for natural cures.

http://www.therapaw.net/docs/corns,%20and%20warts.pdf

It is about Greyhound dogs and the corns they tend to get. Apparently they are particularly prone - more than any other species.

It also mentioned the salicylic acid but as an alternative - tea tree oil!

My greyhound is such a goof ball. Most of the time she is asleep...really enjoying her retirement. :) I will check that site out - that is awesome. :) About the corns and duct tape...I wonder if maybe the duct tape IS a bad idea like Juliebove said...hmmm...I would hate for something bad to happen because of the duct tape.

I didn't say it was a bad idea. Just can't see how it would work.

Hmmm... I don't know then. Have never had them personally. My friend used to get them until she switched to a wide width shoe.

I think the shoe theory is valid but it just never seemed to apply to me. I did read that some people have a structural problem in their foot with the way the bones are formed that makes them prone to it - and that must be me. I did go to a podiatrist years ago who told me I needed surgery for it. My father said it was a scam but maybe not. These corns just seem to pop up every so often regardless of what I put on my feet.

I have always heard of women "breaking in" their shoes . . . (you know - the glamorous ones) but me? No, I could not break in a shoe - they always broke me first. That is why I don't get how people can order products like shoes on-line.

I order almost all my shoes online. But... I mainly wear New Balance or Birkenstocks. There are a few other brands I can wear, but not many. That's now. My feet have gotten wider and thicker due to my many medical problems. Back when I wore a size 8B and had no medical problems, I could wear any shoe I wanted to and I had tons.

I used to be a triple A. Age and lots of walking barefoot made my feet wider. Pregnancy made my feet wider and bigger. Now I have a wide foot. I don't see stores that size them with width anymore. Maybe if I went with brands like you suggest I would but not available to me now.
