Later next week, I'll be seeing a friend who is offering to sell me what he thinks is an older model Vitamix blender. He said the pitcher is made out of metal. Is anyone familiar with this and have any feedback? Would you get it or save up for the plastic pitcher?

I have an old Vita-Mixer commercial Maxi-4000 that I bought new many years ago and its still working just great. The metal top is stainless steel and the whole thing can only be described as heavy duty. Its so rugged it may last forever. :)

I had that kind for years and it is great....and has a spout to "pour" your smoothies from too. I loved mine....bought the updated one about 4 years ago but mine was still going strong!
