i've never really trusted tampons. first used them in my teens cuz it was the "in" thing to do.

now i use a diva cup. have for about 6 years now. love it. wouldn't trade it in, especially for the dry, tearing sensation of tampon removal. yuck.

Hmm....I am not sure how to react to this article because I didn't fully understand where they were getting their sources from.

Regardless though, I feel there are things in tampons and pads that are not healthy. For me, I use cloth pads etc. because I don't want the fragrances in them.

If you check the facts you will find that it is just an "urban legend" about the asbestos. HOWEVER ~ they do bleach the cotton to make it white.

Speaking for my experience, as a teen i used tempon and didn't seem to have problem. Then i stopped using this for years, when i tried to re-used that, i would have a fever and wouldn't feel well. I get the same reaction when i would use a popular brand pad. So obviously something isn't right or have changed since it first came up on the market. Now, I buy only natural pad and it seems to do the trick very well for me.

I buy also only organic shampoo or body wash don't use cream on my face except for raw coconut oil. I don't use dehodorant either and will use a nice vanilla lotion instead. Now with this raw food, i find that i don't need to use lotion anymore.

Thank you for bringing this up.

Thanks for pointing that out justinesmith.

I've never heard of a diva cup. I'll look into it. Thanks for the link!

Raw angel mom, I'm finding out that my skin isn't as dry since eating raw. I'm thinking it's probably due to the good oils I'm eating and possibly some food sensitivity/nutrition issues with cooked food.

Another diva cup user here! It's the most portable, convenient, clean, healthy, odor-free, earth friendly product (along with the other similar cups like the moon cup, etc). Once you learn how to put it in, I really think it is the perfect product.

I have always known that Tampons weren't always safe. You can buy ones that are all natural and unbleached. I personally use them and I love them. I haven't found something I like more to replace them :o

quick question about the diva cup sizes-I've had all c-births, so I should get the one for non-mothers, right?

From the website:

Model 1: for women under 30 years old who have never had childbirth or c-sections.

Model 2: for women who have had vaginal childbirth or c-sections; and for women who are over 30 years old and never had childbirth.

So I think just the presence of a baby in your uterus is enough to change your cervix and vagina.
