Background: I hate olives. I have never ever ever been able to eat one. i have gone so far as to take a bite, but then gagging, I had to spit it out. I once got reprimanded for not eating olive spread served in the commune I lived in because the elders said I was setting a bad example for the children. I still refused to eat it.

THEN

2 days ago I was shopping at Alissa'a store and the raw olives looked DEVINE. I just HAD to have some. I even put a rush on the order! LOL! They arrived yesterday and I ate 2 jumbo green olives in a row! My dh just sat there and stated in jaw-dropping disbelief. LOL!

So what's up with the changing taste buds, huh?

Your taste does definitly change!!:)
I used to HATE avocados...I kept buying them every week for two years...would make stuff...including the avo/cacao pudding...would take a bite, stick it in the fridge and then several days later throw it away...tried them in guac, in salads, etc...couldn't stnad them but knew it was good fat and great for skin so I kept trying to teach myself to like them.....now, suddenly I love them!! Since going 100% raw I eat avocado almost everyday and just love it! And the avo/cacao pudding......incredible!!!:D

I've never been an olive person myself but just recently fell in love. I use to hate them didn't want them near my food. Taste does change. Also I've had several instances where I had ate some cooked food that I use to like and it was just to much for me, my taste buds have changed and I'm back 100% raw now but nothing taste the same.

Yes, tastes do change. I now find myself loving avos, dandelion greens, swiss chard, etc - who knew?!! ~ Cathy

What's interesting is that things taste SO different. I used to dislike romaine because it was bitter tasting. Now it's my favorite lettuce and tastes slightly sweet!

i hope I can like those things soon. I still can't stand avocado. But I'm still buying them and still trying to use them in things..... I've tried them in a salad, can't taste it but in everything else I can.

what i have been noticing is that my taste buds were getting more sensitive to simple foods (i mean just uncooked vegetables for example) and it was a divine experience to eat..like a tomato!

and yet last sunday i had some SAD (i was out of $ and just had to eat...sucky situation) after that i feel like i can't taste ANYTHING, seriously! this is not fun, i hope this will go away soon :o

I notice so many things as far as changing tastes go. My husband likes sliced cucumbers, one of the few veggies he will eat besides salad...I took one from his plate and yick!!! He had salted them and they were too salty!! I love them just as they are...so sweet and cooling.

I am also taking wheatgrass juice and spirulina everyday...I tried it years ago and couldn't stand it...now I crave it...amazing really!!!!:D

And of course there is the avocados...oh my!!!!Yum!!!!
