I am taking a big exam next Tuesday. I am also pregnant and having foggy brain moments. Are there any good juices or foods that will help me concentrate for the 4 hours exam I HAVE TO PASS. It is the Marriage and Family Therapy exam and is know for being very difficult. I will need all my faculties. Any advice would be much appreciated :)

Gosh, I just read your post and I hope that you passed with flying colors. There was a study performed once regarding studying, students, exams, etc. Apparently, students perform better on sugar ie: donuts. So if you take that a step further I would guess that natural sugars would be a perfect compliment for the next time you are taking a test ie: any and all fruit...back to that delicious apple or what would make me happy would be a bunch of chilled watermelon.

It's next week :) I was thinking of doing some kind of power juice which of course would likely have plenty of sugars. Today I had beet, apple, cucumber. Gosh it was delicious. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any juicing combos that might be particularly good for alertness etc. I will have to bring some raw cacao too I think! 4 hours is a long time for pregnant ladies to sit without eating but luckily they let us bring snacks! Thanks for the input.

i highly recommend this smoothie:

a ton of spinach (3-5 cups)
1 whole grape fruit (using white pith under skin, but discarding skin itself)
water (till preferred thickness reached)
stevia (to taste)
1tbs raw cacao

blend and add more water, ect until you get the thickness you want. the grape fruit is such a stronge taste that it takes over...so it just tastes like a sweet grapfruit smoothie. I drink this before class sometimes and i ohnestly feel like my brain cells are illuminated...yes illuminated.
total clear, awake, focused, not buzzed and no crash. (also keeps me full for a few hours at least).

good luck!

Fantastic! The best of luck. Your a little more advanced than me, but what I would do is post in the 'recipe' section and I'm sure you will get some excellent combos there.

green lemonade really powers me up and makes me feel alert:

kale
three apples or less
one pear to really sweeten it up
organic lemon, peel and all, or squeeze juice out of a sprayed one
half a cucumber
two stalks of celery

That way you're getting sugar for the brain to run on and minerals for endurance.

Awesome. Maybe I'll drink one before I leave for the test and make the other to put in a drink container while in the test site.. the one with cacao would be good to bring in for extra energy... hmmm GREAT ideas :)
