:o Hello everyone! I'm June and is very excited to be here. I had the Gastric Bypass a year ago Aug.21th. i lost a total of 86lbs and feel fantastic. I wish I knew about this way of living, living raw. I would not have had the surgery. Now I don't want to worry about regaining weight. and what better way not to gain by eating this way! One less concern for me. I'm gathering all my equipment to start living a healthier lifestyle. OMG! THE FOOD IS EXPENSIVE TO TRY TO FEED A FAMILY OF FOUR!!!! But i know our health is worth it. I'm very glad to be here.:o

Aloha and Welcome to RFT! Sooo glad you have joined us! After having the surgery - I think it's awesome that you want to transition to the vibrant and wonderful life of raw foods!!!

There is so much to learn and so many wonderful recipes to try! You're really gunna love this food its amazing!! (and you'll love this forum too.... loads of support here, lots of laughter, crazy rawbies... and lots of hugs when you need it too!!)

May I suggest that you get Alissa's book and DVD... two of the most important tools I could ever have been blessed with when I first went raw... and seriously -- I don't think I would've survived without them. So many questions were answered, the testimonys were so inspiring.... and the DVD simply RAWKS! It's like having Alissa standing right there in your kitchen teaching you how to un~cook these fabulous meals!!

blessings on your journey -- I look forward to getting to know you better!

rawk on and enjoy the ride!

HI, Joon4yu! It is great that you found the site. You are on a great journey and how awesome that you are wanting to be healthy after GB surgery. I want to be healthy, too. Hey, I have a family of four and I totally understand what you mean about expenses. One thing I want to encourage you in is, since we have been raw and juicing and eating organic, etc, we don't have prescriptions, no co pays, no dr. appts since we are "well" all the time -- thank God. No missed work, no missed school, more energy. So, as a result the money that used to go to sick care now goes to our food budget. Oh, and we don't really eat out much at all, so our grocery bill is high, but we just simply moved the money from one area to another and I would rather have the good health any day.
