What exactly have you been eating? I have a friend who is allergic to some acidic fruit and her mouth responds to it the same way. Have you experienced anything like this before? Are you eating/trying out new foods? How long has it been going on? Unless we know what you've been eating, it would be hard to say. It would be good to keep a journal of what new foods you are introducing to yourself. This way you can track any adverse reactions you have. Hope this helps

Nine times outta ten, it's a reaction to your body detoxing (I know folks tend to HATE that word and feel it's a cop-out...but in most cases, it's simply the truth!)

You have to understand, our bodies will use just about any part of our bodies to get rid of what it needs to get rid of. I don't know what your previous diet was like, but if you were a heavy meat-eater, then your body has acid to rid of because meat is very acidic.

Before raw, I had oral thrush (yeast) and when I went raw, I did have to go through a period of my body cleansing and I had a bout with the oral thrush (as well as vaginal yeast infections) before they cleared up completely.

So, drink lots of water to help flush out and perhaps avoid the offending foods just for a while until things clear up and then re-introduce them. Stick with the fruit and veggies you CAN eat without the oral pain and discomfort. I also recall reading once that when your body has had enough of a certain fruit (pineapple and kiwi being great examples) that at first, it will no longer taste sweet and if you KEEP "forcing" it by eating it, the body will react by causing the burning.

When detoxing, I find that swishing water with baking soda around in my mouth to be helpful in neutralizing the acids coming out. Also drinking lots and lots of water.

Thanks for all the advice... I am thinking it is the detox... the left side of my tongue is very sore and swollen...when I swallow, it hurts...
I decide to stay on my smoothies and just eat some soft type of fruit as the salads with all the veggies hurt too much to chew.
Any ideas on about how long this detoxing lasts????/
I do like this plan and it is getting easier to stay on course :) :)
