I finally got my book and CD.
That book is like a textbook:eek:
I love the gloss on the pages, hopefully it won't
get too stained.
I am soooo excited about the

Mine is so used and stained and water, carob, banana, celery and whatnot soaked but I love it!!

At first I was soo careful with my book... i wrote very neatly in the margins, kept it away from the food prep area so it wouldn't get stained... and eventually I got tired of walking over to my dining room table to read the directions! :D
now my book has a personality with lots of stains - marinara smudges, fudge smudges, finger prints, and splashed smoothies!!! LOL!!! I LOVE IT ALL used and colorful now! I still write stuff in the margins - only sometimes it's a bit sloppy cuz I right in the middle of fixing a recipe and I want to make a note to myself so I don't forget.... ;)

You guys are all gonna have so much fun when you get it.
I tried to be careful with mine. Took it up with me to the five-day training with some spots, but not too bad. Alissa signed it and everything.
That poor book is so beat up! It has been used by both me AND the kids for making things and let's just say that neat went out the window. But, that's the sign of a GREAT kitchen book. It shouldn't be all neat and proper. That'll lead people to wonder if you've ever used the dern thing!;) This way, people know whatever they're getting, it's gonna be great, cause just look at my book!:D
Congrats on getting your book. Try the marinara sauce. It is awesome!:)

Soo impressed with you all. Know you will love Alissa's book. Have always written in my cookbooks all adjustmentst to a recipe as well as what I thought of the finished product. Alissa's is the only book I own that is almost embarassingly beat up and stained. She was so kind to sign mine when I purchased it and the DVD. It is very much used and very much loved.

I tried my first recipe from the book tonight. That Marinara sauce is the bomb:D I mean that literally too ..... I'll have to remember to tame down the garlic just a smidge. I used two cloves ...... almost three.:eek: I thought better of it .... and Thank god I did. So we ate raw together tonight and he liked it. (I'm sure there will be repercussions from the garlic. Eh, whats a little garlic between friends:p ) I whipped it up so kwik too!!
Anyway, it was good and maybe, just maybe he'll join me in this. I'm not 100% raw yet, but the majority of my meals are. My body believes in baby steps and I'm listening to it! I have lost weight and that makes me happy too!
Wonder should I start a blog:confused:

You will have fun!! I got my book last Sat, but am still waiting on the DVDs (backordered). Maybe they'll come today! :D
I made the pad thai last night-oh yum!! It's true-the sauce is delicious. I didn't have almond butter, so I used tahini and it was still great!
I also made the pineapple sundae for breakfast this morning for me and kids. Mmmm!

In preparation for the October challenge, I had to buy my book/dvd. I love how big it is (lots of room for note taking).
I ordered my nuts, sun dried tomatoes, committed to 3 days a week for weight training, and have all of my spices lined up.
I have been 100% raw for about a week but I am starting the challenge as day 1. My clothes are getting looser and I am soooooooooooooo happy that I don't have to buy a new wardrobe for winter ( i have my 14s and 12s nicely folded up in my rubbermaid bin).
Morn, I am going to take your advice and make some marinara this weekend.

I tried reading mine when I got in from work last night. I only managed a few 100 pages before the weight of the book became too much.
I like what I'm reading but not the size and weight of the tome :(
