Hello all!
Julie (Glow worm) and I just returned from our RAW WEDDING, and we wanted to share the details with you! We have been 100% raw for 5 months, and decided to elope (with our parents) to Ronora Lodge in Michigan. This is the same place that we got engaged at three months earlier, so it seemed fitting. It was the absolute BEST wedding ever. I have attached a few photos that BEGIN to give a feel of the ceremony.
We were married barefoot next to the lake by Hunter, our officiant. The skies were blue, the sun was shining, and the air was cool and crisp. A Native
American blanket ceremony was performed by Deej. We then had a 100%
raw dinner prepared by the Ronora staff which included cucumber salad, beet/apple salad, kale/blueberry salad, huge greens salad, butternut squash soup, hummus, mock toona, nori rolls, raw stir fry, crackers, young coconuts, and pineapple rejouvelac. The wedding cake was a raw cacao cheesecake that was the best we have ever tasted. All of the food was prepared by their raw chef, Steven, on the premises. I can't begin to explain how great the food was, and the feeling of comfort we felt having these accommodation's.
After dinner, Hunter lit up a HUGE bonfire that everyone gathered around for warmth and conversation.
The entire experience can never be accurately explained with words. We
have pledged to return to Ronora every year on our anniversary. There
is a magic that is felt there.
This was their first raw wedding, but they were excited about future events like this. We already know another couple thinking about having their ceremony there.
I honestly can't say enough about the experience. EVERYTHING was taken care of for us by people that get it. People the celebrate the raw lifestyle and appreciate the journey.
The website is www.ronora.org if anyone is interested. It is about 6 hours from us (St. Louis, MO).
Thank you to all of you that have motivated us to start and continue our raw journey!
