Hey all,

Anyone else from New England/cold climate who has gone through a raw winter?

I've only ever eaten a raw diet in the summertime so this will be a new experience for me.

Do you find yourself eating more nuts/avocados?
What about fruit? Do you favor seasonal fruits over tropical fruits? I can see myself eating more apples and berries than pineapple and mango compared to what I do in the summer heat.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated!!

my last winter in Utah was raw...and i have to say that i followed up a lot of smoothies with a hot bath.
what helped was spicing up the chili...a little denser food is good
heavier food in wraps was also good

When ever I am feeling a little like the cold is getting to me I whip up a warm chocolate with nutmilk, agave, cacao powder, a dash of coconut butter, vanilla and a pinch of cayenne in the vitamix long enough so that it gets creamy and warm, but not hot.. sooo yummy. Many a morning has started that way. I also warm up chili or soups in the dehydrator and make loads of crackers and onion bread. The Calzone I think is going to be my staple this winter and I love nutloaf.
