yesterday was dd's 4th b-day party. i did fine. just stuck to the veggies. but today I feel cranky and like a bite of the left over cake won't hurt. This is the 1st time I have even LOOKED at cooked food in the last 18 days. I need some support here. I'm in a food rut. Nothing in the fridge looks appealing. I'm gonna make a green smoothie (again, sigh.) and hope that helps. I'm just kinda BORED and since nothing seems appealing it's making the effort harder, ya know? I'm also pretty sick with a chest cold so maybe that's why I want comfort food? I dunno. I won't give in. I promise. I am so much stronger this time. In fact I am going to make my smoothie and then head straight upstairs to snuggle in bed and watch VB's 12 Steps dvd. That should help, no?

That should absolutely help. Follow that up with Alissa's dvd's... check out the strawberry crepes.
After your smoothie, see if the cake still looks good to you. If not, toss it. If so, and you really want to keep the "cold" (are you cold? or are you detoxing?), have some. I'm sure your body will thank you. :p
You're doing fine ~ making good choices. Pat yourself on the back and remind yourself about "crimes against wisdom" and the lil monkey mind telling you you're not worth good health. You absolutely, incontrovertibly are.

thanks revvell, I think I have everything on hand for those crepes and the dc just LOVE them. I think I will make a large batch and serve them for dinner. I love being the cool raw mom who serves pie and shakes and crepes for dinner. LOL!

Hey Zaphirah, you're doing so well! Those Strawberry crepes are a great idea. I know that whenever I'm in a food rut, I just grab some frozen bananas whack them in the vitamix and tamp them with either: cacao powder, nibs, agave & a splash of nutmilk to make double chocolate icecream or I throw in some frozen raspberries, agave & a splash of water for a raspberry sorbet and it makes the hugest bowl and I just love it cos it feels kinda naughty ;) but it's oh soooo good! Hope you have a fab day! xoxox

I'm detoxing a motherload at the moment and all I want to do is snuggle so I know exactly how you feel. Just imagine how great your body will feel once it's cleaned out the sludge!!! I'm juicing loads today as well to keep it on track. Big hugs xoxo

Nothing in the fridge looks appealing. I'm gonna make a green smoothie (again, sigh.) and hope that helps. I'm just kinda BORED and since nothing seems appealing it's making the effort harder, ya know? When I feel like that I like to ask myself if I am getting any hunger signals from my body and if the answer is no then I just accept that and forget about eating until my body signals that it would like to be fed now.
This is what I would do... If you go to goneraw.com, there is a coconut fudge recipe that is really quick and fantastic! Just search "coconut fudge" and it'll pop up. My stepkids (and husband) beg for it, it's that good. I also toss in some sunflower seeds and cinnamon, but that's not in the recipe. I also never have young coconuts, so I just use a touch more coconut butter and some water to use what I have.
I haven't made many desserts in Alissa's book yet, so I'm not thinking of those off the top of my head. I did just go back through them, though, and I'm getting some dates soon so I can make some of those. Can't wait to try the Black Forest Cake. MMMMM.
That's so great that this is your first stumbling block. You can so get through this.
