I know you all have this nut thing figured out but I'm still lost.. help
Are the raw nuts at the store now not really raw?
Where do I get the raw ones? Last time they said I could buy from local growers (((Ha))) I live in NEBRASKA...No nuts here. Lots and lots of corn few punkins..
I'm almost out of almonds and my family needs them quick.

If you are referring to almonds specifically I do not know. Almonds are the only nut I am allergic to so I never buy them. The other nuts I buy at my health food store say they are raw and I trust what they say.

I have had the same questions about nuts that you are asking and so I have decided to avoid them. Instead of nuts in recipes I use raw sunflower seeds.

I do believe it would be a matter of asking the store who their supplier is and then contacting the supplier and asking them if they are pasteurized, and we now know that really usually means irradiated, unfortunately. So, raw doesn't necessarily mean raw..... Buying from a farm directly would avoid that, plus you could buy in bulk and save that way, I reckon. I just love fresh almond milk!

If you're milking the almond cow, wanted to mention that sesame milk is great too.
