Could this be detox? I have a chipped tooth on the upper right side of my mouth which I need to get fixed. Before SAD it hurt like hell, 95% raw NOT alot of pain, I kept thinking the pain I was experiencing was from that tooth, but several days ago I realized it's coming from the tooth just beneath it which has a crown that has never given me a problem before. The pain was so excrutiating that I had to take six advil. Two did nothing, Four did nothing, and six has made it feel a little better. Tried putting coconut oil on it and nothing. The pain is not coming from my tooth which was causing me pain. It is coming from a completely different tooth which should be perfectly fine. Uuuuuggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Is this a part of detox?

This is awful...I can't sleep and the advil is not taking the pain away...I'm not sure if it's in the tooth or the gum part...I can't lie on that side of my face.

argh I am so sorry to hear it!!!
who knows with the teeth
i would just get to a dentist asap...
since it's sunday and you'll have to get through a whole day, i would suggest resting and consuming mostly fluids. green juice & powders if you have them. if you're hungry chewing whole green leaves is very healing, chew on the side that hurts if you can for a long time, 30 minutes or so, and spit out the fiber when you're done.
gargling with sea salt as often as every hour
taking lots of vitamin C
fasting is said to relieve tooth aches

As someone who has been in toothpain, what I would do....
Call your doc and have him/her write you a script for a painkiller (percocet was the only thing that worked for me though others have said vicodin helped them). I know that even one day of such pain can be incredible. Then get to the dentist asap Monday; tell the receptionist you are in emergent pain.
I've heard that clove oil can help though I've not tried it.

uhh bla.. I had the worse tooth pain a bout a few weeks ago - about 2 months into raw...
I could barely breath..
What helped me?
juices -well because it was the only thing I could eat really :\ anything else would hurt like hell
chewing on green leaves and anything green really- made myself a salad...
I personally don't recommend painkillers... because they just delay the pain to come out... let it get out now for once and forever and after that you will feel like new... ^_^
Also you could check about tooth crowns... is it silver? Shazzie wrote about it in her book actually.. about the toxins in the "silver" crowns..

I heard a milk and bread pumice helps tooth pain to go away, Soak stiff bread in some milk and press down on it with your teeth. I hear it pulls out the infection
But Milk is not vegan and sometimes the coolness from the milk could hurt too if your tooth is sensitive to cold and hot. I duno I wish I could help more. :(

When I have a toothache, I simply start Oil Pulling 5 times (back-to-back) each day.
The first time I did this, the pain went away immediately...and never came back.

Some tips:
-Chew on ice to reduce swelling and pain. Periodically rinse the mouth with warm salt water.
-Allow the pain fully (do not try to amplify it). Move into it and explore it psychically / emotionally / physically....without necessarily endorsing it. Do this for 5 minutes if you can. 10 would be better.
-Toothaches are usually an infection. The same underlying problem is present - dead or decaying material that bacteria are feeding off of. Remove dead foods from your diet and eat simpler...with less combining. Light fast if you can manage.
So: Do whatever you have to do to get out of crisis and bring the pain to a manageable level. Then continue with your detox programs. Such crisis are normal.
-Just my opinions.

I had all of my silver crowns pulled out about 10 years ago. This is porcelain. Also, I've got quite a few years of sobriety so I won't go there with the pain killers. Instinctively, it feels like something is healing because last night it felt like pain started spreading to the back of my tongue, the side of my head, my gums...it's just a very strange place to detox if that is what is happening and it hurts like hell at night. Sitting here with a mouth full of sesame seed oil...yum, now that's tasty first thing in the morning. I'm afraid if I go to the dentist they won't be able to fix the problem because it feels like it's underneath everything...it's weird. Will get the broken tooth fixed which has no pain, go figure. I'm starting to feel like a hypochondriac on this site...never had so many issues.

I found this link (and the others) on another forum, I asked the exact same problem!

This guy recomments a sea salt 'brine' mouth wash and has instructions for it. He goes on a great deal about raw and dentistry. Modern dentistry is a dangerous stream to navigate. Don't get metal fillings, cash out for the porcelain ones because metal fillings have mercury and other toxins.

That's funny, I came upon this article last night, but was in too much pain to read it. It's simple enough and I will try it. Just did the oil pulling as suggested and my tooth does feel better.

What is oil pulling?
Has anyone tried using garlic?

I get terrible tooth pain when my sinuses are inflamed and you might find that detoxing could affect your sinuses. I try to inhale steam when my sinuses are bad and if I can afford it, I get reflexology!

Oil Pulling (http://earthclinic.com/Remedies/oil_pulling.html)
Add Oil of Oregano to your pulls. It helped me get rid of a horrible gum/tooth infection.
