I am re-reading Chapter 11 and not getting something. Why are there only recipe ideas for Days 1,3 and 4? What happened to other days? Do I just repeat? Do I have to make these foods everyday or do they actually keep for a few days without getting seriously mushy?
I decided I have to stick to something more strict like this cause I keep falling off the raw wagon trying to do on my own. Will have to sub some of the recipes tho, can't find the stuff or don't like some things.
Hard to just eat fruit in morning, I read some say fruit seems sweet to them, to me it all seems very sour and prefer very plain food, like the plain toast I am used to eating.

Those are food PREPARATION days, not food eating days. She's breaking it up so that you don't have to cook extensively every day. You can eat whatever you want. She's trying to make the preparing of the recipes easier, I think.

Plus... it soo much food I couldn't eat it all!! And the food I prepared would last for several meals. dh even ate the date nut torte for dinner one night! lol!! I also had salads and fruit and munchies - like carrot stick in almond butter or celery stick in tahini... I was seriously full all the time! Sometimes I just couldn't eat a huge meal - so I opted for a quick salad...
good luck... I loved Alissas 30 day plan -- it totally rawked my world! :D

I get it now, thanks.:D
Just made the date nut torte and don't like it. Just tastes like raisins, why bother going thru all the hassle, just eat raisins??
I have had a few problems liking the recipes, I guess when I read the name of them, I have certain expectations. The caesar salad dressing was another one, the pine nuts just took over everything else, so leaving them out for the alfredo sauce.
I am not sure will make the pad thai, had mung beans that were cooked and nearly gagged, but maybe raw is different? Cannot find yellow squash in this town either.
I will keep plugging along tho.

i am getting my book soon so i will be trying out the 30 day menu as well. i have tried many raw recipes and have had problems as well. things just don't taste the same to me. i have had success eating smoothies in the morning. i don't sit and eat fruit unless it is grapes or melons. everything gets blended into something. that is how i get my greens down as well. i am making lots of smoothies, cold soups, salads (without the greens:cool: ) until i get my book. keep us posted on what works.

One thing I have learned is to cut the recipe in half at least so as not to waste time and money if you hate it and throw it out. Only problem is when I don't have enough food in big processor it doesn't process it as well.
Another thing I did was to do a search here on certain recipes to see what others thought. Some things like the corn chips didn't work as the book instructed and there were alternatives.
I am going to try the dehydrating recipes. I really miss the crunch texture, as I have posted before. All the mushy stuff gets to me. I just did the mock salmon pate and there is another one that I won't make again, just too mushy and don't think I can dehydrate that one to help it!
Perhaps I will just end up eating raw fruits and veg's,(salads) doing smoothies and dehydrating a few things. The DVD made everything seem so easy and look so good and in my reality at least, not turning out that way, but I hate "cooking" and the clean up and in my small kitchen it is especially gruesome.
Like I have read many times, we all have to find what works for us.

yeah, i will read other peoples posts about some of these recipes. the moderator also suggested that i use half of the recipe as well (i have a mini fp) and i have been feeding my trash can less as a result. hopefully my taste buds will change sooner than later because i am not a nut fan. i am okay with nuts but not when it IS the recipe. i didn't mind the mock salmon as a snack but not as a meal. as of now, my belly and my tastebuds can't handle that many nuts.
i will keep plugging away.
This has encouraged me to rethink the menu plan, and it actually looks great. It might be a fun way to get myself to try a few new dishes. :)

Many people here don't like the nuts or how it makes them feel either. I USED to like all nuts, the roasted variety, the raw not too much. I actually find most of them taste about the same on their own and in recipes I don't taste them at all, cept those pine nuts, again a nut I used to like in a pesto recipe.
I wonder if my taste buds will change enough to like some of this stuff?

YES!!! (Maybe)
I feel like I'm having a taste explosion sometimes even when I'm eating stuff that used to not excite me at all!
You may just begin to like the stuff.
My mom hated (I mean HATED) avocados and papayas until she went raw. Now she can't get enough (after 50 years HATING THEM her whole life!!!).
