I have been on the raw diet for about 7 weeks and I hadn't honestly found any good recipes that i enjoyed. I sprouted wheat and dehydrated it to make bread and I didnt like the taste it was almost bitter. Does any one have a good recipe for mayo I dont like the ones with apple cider vinegar, reminds of the time I drank alot of it because it was suppose to help you lose weight.

rawkinlocs peach cobbler nad cinnamon rolls are good- keep it simple nad stick to green smoothies, veggies, and fruit if u aren't finding the recipes tasty

What type of recipes are you looking for (desserts, entree', snacks, etc)? Do you have any recipe books?

Seriously.. i'm totally with you on this one! I've found like 2 things in like 2 months that are even worth making again. I've found that Raw food, real world has no fail recipes. They are all really stinkin good. It's made by 2 people that have a restaurant. They are kind of elaborate so it's not for a beginner but most of the recipes don't use a dehydrator.

Here's a recipe for raw mayo I've come across:


Blend until smooth:
• ½ c almonds, soaked and peeled
• 1/4 cup water
• ½ lemon, juiced
• 1 small garlic clove
• ½ tsp salt
Add in a steady stream, until emulsified:
• 1 ½ c olive oil
Store in a glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

I hear that the recipes in Alissa's book are to die for. I ordered it and am expecting it any day. I've read rave reviews about it. I've also searched this site and the internet for recipes that sound yummy. So far, the ones that I've made have been great. Now I just need to get a dehydrator for a little more variety. Good luck!

I am curious which 2 did you like? I have had alot of bad "luck" with what I have been making and could use some ideas here!

Raw Food, Real World does actually have some really good recipes, but they are so gourmet that I find Alissa's to be more approachable.

Things I LOVE that are quick and easy have been the hummus (zucchini) and spinach dip, the mock salmon pate.

On goneraw.com, do a search for coconut fudge. This stuff is amazing. I brought it to a bbq once, and it was a huge hit. My stepkids beg for it too.

You could also keep it more simple! I find that getting a wrappable lettuce of some sort (collard greens, lettuce, etc.) and tossing some stuff in to make a wrap tends to satisfy me. I make them like burritos, toss in olives, avocado, tomatoes, and whatever else sounds good.

I also find that a good way to make a salad less boring is to pick a piece of fruit and slice it small and mix it in.

Just ideas. Keep trying stuff. You'll be amazed at how many things are way tastier than you even hope for. And no matter what, it's GOOD for you! That still boggles my mind that there is no guilt attached because even dessert helps your body to fill its needs!!! This whole raw food thing is worth taking the time and pushing until you get it right. :)

I did find a fudge recipe online that turned out good, wil search for one you suggested. I do have that book and never tried anything out yet, they all seem so LONG!

I keep hearing about collard greens, ya know i have yet to ever meet one here!

I will keep plugging away, would like to get healthy before I die at very least LOL

There are days that I eat very simply--an avo and a tomato or simple green salad with some chopped veggies. Simple soup or maybe make an easier recipe from Alissa's book. It is whatever strikes my fancy or whatever my body may be craving. So many of Alissa's recipes are so great, easy and satisfying. A couple that I never tire of include her Indian Spinach dip and the butternut squash noodles with golden curry. Quite a few of the soups in her book will be on my menu very soon with the coming colder weather.

I do hope you find some things to your liking. Sometimes it is also simply a matter of following what you used to like cooked and replacing it with raw items.

I went through the same phase. It's a matter of just trying a variety of recipes until you hone in on what you like. Also, the taste buds will adjust. My most common dinner is a simply salad wrapped up in nori paper.


But I got one great suggestion for you. Find the Sea Tangle kelp noodles and make either Alissa's marinara sauce or the Prince (?something) sauce or perhaps the Thai sauce and put the sauce of your choice over the noodles in a bowl. Stick in a dehydrator at just 95 or 105 for a mere five hours or so. This will soften the noodles and is just wonderful, just like the comfort-food rice noodles, just like "normal" pasta.


Don't give up! :)

Are these noodles in the book? I can't find them. Do they taste like fish or seafood (which I don't like) or just have that name?
