After watching Dr Oz's show on Discovery Health, I really want to go raw. I found this website and it is really helping me even more want to make the transition. I need some pointers for getting started. I would be more inclined to do the minimal ingredient recipes. I have tried dieting my whole life since 5th grade (I'm 39) and nothing seems to work long term. I want to eat without counting calories. Help please.

Oh, it's really SO easy! My hubby and I have only been raw for a few weeks, but we've already been amazed at the simplicity of this lifestyle. Have you read Alissa Cohen's book? I cannot say enough good things about it, so if you don't have it - get it! :-) You'll be inspired and encouraged by the testimonials, and I promise you, your mouth will water reading her recipes!
Another excellent book is "Raw Food for 1 or 2 People" - super-easy recipes that you can put together with very minimal effort.

I too prefer to keep things simple, and what could be simpler than the lunch I made for myself today? - Romaine leaves filled with avocado mashed with salsa, sprinkled with red peppers and spicy sprouts, and rolled to make "wraps"! Delicious!
Best of luck to you!

Aloha and Welcome to RFT!! I agree that the best place to start is by getting Alissa's book and DVD... there are a lot of very simple and delicious recipes along with some more elaborate ones (which are still very simple to prepare!)
perhaps start searching thru the recipe threads here on RFT... there are some wonderful recipes floating around here....
some staples like almond butter, or coconut butter, coconut oil, lots of fresh greens, veggies and fruit so you will always have an abundance of things to snack on ... or you can throw together a simple salad! You'll find your groove - it just going to take a bit of research and digging...
haveing Alissas book will make it all much simpler!!
RAWK ON ... blessings on your journey!
