Well I did it! It's been two months since my last chemical peel and I decided to let the foods I eat correct my complexion. I have never been without a few spots of acne since I was like 12. I am 25.. and ya.. I still get them  but the chemical peels cleared up my skin and for the last 7 months I was acne free (what a joy! :) )Well since stopping the peels my skin has break outs everywhere! And some of them are so painful. :(
I have been drinking lots of water and I'm not lying.. I have eaten 2 1/2 watermelons in less than 6 days to get moisture into my body and it's not clearing my skin.
Frustrating. I no longer feel pretty. Why isn't increasing water helping my skin
Have you tried oil swishing??
Also... I have tried a really "strange" experiment recently and had success with it. Are you ready?
I stopped washing my face. I was using this and that and nothing seemed to completely work (even on raw), although oil swishing did help some. I have been using a rough dry brush (which is really rough; it's meant for the body) on both my body and face twice daily. I have also been rinsing with water in the morning and at night, then using a cotton pad to take off the water and any dead skin cells. There is always some grayish brown on the cotton from the dead skin.
It's been about a week and a half or so. The results are in... I have NO blemishes on my face at all, and the scars are fading fast. I think this must have an effect sort of like the peels but without the chemicals because I'm causing the dead skin to go away.
Hope that helps.
PS My skin (face and body) is much softer too... still using soap on my body though!
PPS The reason I even thought of this is because I've had such ridiculous success with my hair's softness and fullness and bounce since I stopped using anything (no shampoo or conditioner, just very occasional small amount of pure coconut butter) on it, although that took a couple months to really make my hair as lovely as it is right now.
By the way, I'm sure all the water you're taking in does help. And don't forget that when your body is releasing toxins, it sometimes uses your skin for that. It could take months of detox before your skin is not used for that purpose, I would think. But if you're detoxing, there must be a light at the end of the tunnel!

trinity,
Your skin will clear and become glowing as you continue down the raw path. Caution on the sand or even facial washes with abrasive ingredients--they abbrate your skin and will set back the healing. Please research more before you continue with the sand. Healing from the inside is the only true healing. Keeping our largest organ--skin--cleansed (water is absolutely one of natures greatest healerw) is of utmost importance.
Sometimes it seems a challenge to have to consume half the body weight in water, but after a time of not doing it--it really shows.
