My son just ask me how you get protein from a raw diet.

I've read lot's about that in the last month but right off the top of my head I could only think of nuts, but I remember reading about a vegetable that had more protein than chicken. Can you help me fill in the blanks so I can give him a quick answer and not have to research for 2 days.

Thanks
River MOM

alissa goes into the protein question in her book. there are a lot of threads on here too, if you use the banana search button.

also revvell talks about it a bunch on her podcasts
http://rawfood.revvell.com/ when she interviews Raw Food "celebrities' and whatnot.

Short answer: Plenty of plant foods provide protein. I believe broccoli is 45% protein.

You don't get protein from protein. Your body must break it down to amino acids. Why not get the amino acids directly through the plants :)
