For the second time this summer since going raw, I have started gaining weight and having OUTRAGEOUS bloating. I swear last night I could have taken some scandalous pregnancy photos.......I even had to buy new pants last week...and I couldn't wear them today!!
the worst bloat came after dinner last night,
green smoothie:
spinach, liquid chlorophyll, carob, yellow squash and (I think, a half tbs of flax oil), lots of water.....and I ate a yellow bell pepper
I could have over done it one the carob
the weight gain isn't just bloat though as i feel it in the thighs and hips also
I'm at my high weight again.....it just feels so thick
can you all share your simple food combining strategies with me?
I don't eat sweet fruit or grains....and off with the nuts for now!! thanks, spiral leana

I like to keep my "meals" very simple. I don't put a lot of ingredients in. For Me if I put two things in thats a recipe. I like to just put one thing in for a meal. I know this won't work for a lot of people because they like to put many ingredients in. IMO a simple meal (mono meal) is easier to digest. Maybe try leaving out everything you can and keep it simple. If you put in "extras" just put in one this time and a different extra next time until you get them used up and then don't buy them again.

to get rid of the bload faster- try kombucha! it worked so fast for me after weeks of bloating (and it was baaaaad) that i couldn't believe it!
(sorry can't say much about food combining):o

kombucha works wonders. also try short term fasting, and then have small volume meals for a while. high volume, not high calories, make me bloated.

i heard you say that volume thing yesterday too samariah can you expound on that because I think that is a lot of it for me....it seems like not a lot of food calories but i am eating a lot of veggies
i have been bloated all day,
At 8 this morning I had an arame seaweed salad this morning with chopped zuchini/cucumber/garlic and scallions with a tablespoon of flax oil
about 2-3 cups total salad
then a half tablespoon of coconut oil and 2 tbs of carob powder mixed with a little water
(dairy) kefir and a probiotic supplement
oh...and just saying.....I am eliminating regularly
I'm hungry for dinner and I have a 2hour skating practice tonight but I feel HUGE....I;m really not exaggerating either....it is pretty dramatic

PS, try eating some small mono meals separated by a slight hunger signal. I think you are just giving the body too many different foods in the same meal to get the digestion job done and then the food sits in the stomach and you put some more in and the whole thing just tilts (bloat).

hi ez rider thanks for that suggestion. I do have mono meals often of none-sweet fruits like bell pepps and cukes, or even my fats
i think a lot of this is also attributed to the fact that I really overloaded on nuts for like 2 weeks straight and my liver/gall bladder is just undone by that experience. prior to that I was mostly juicing and cleansing
I also had a colonic about two weeks back and when I think about it, the other episode of weight gain and bloating came at about two weeks after my very first colonic.......interesting!
thanks for the suggestions!
