As many of you probably know it's a very lonely world being quite this health conscience!!! Even my friend who first referred us to her beloved Naturopath can't imagine how I could want to eliminate meat/cooked food. I say want because this is the goal, I'd say I'm about 90% there. I've done tons of research over the last 2 years, and know it's the right way to go, it's just very hard, especially when you're all alone trying to do it, and your husband is a meat and potatoes kind of guy!!! He does work out of town, and we only see eachother on weekends, so I do well for 5 days a week.

My research began 2 years ago when my daughter was diagnosed with Russell Silver Syndrome (form of primordial dwarfism - proportionate - not typical dwarfism) which includes metabolic problems with blood sugar, severe digestive problems, food wouldn't digest and she had reflux so bad she would throw up the few meals or drinks I could get in her, so she needed a g-tube (feeding tube) surgically placed at age 2 where she received a special broken down formula. They put her on Prevacid, and after reading the insert front and back, there was NO WAY! I was giving that to her. Shortly after that we saw a Naturopath, and after a detox program, and putting juiced veggies and natural foods through her tube, she doesn't need the tube anymore!! It's still there, so we continue to put supplements through it, (mostly spirulina and aloe vera) but she eats and digest foods normally now. A huge testament to the power of nature! So I became a full believer, but didn't adapt everything into my life because I had been so focused on maintaining her health, and now that she's well, I can focus on the rest of the family! I have 4 lovely children ages 1-8, so I have a lot of energy to learn as much as I can, and also hopefully can share some of what I've learned over the last 2 years. Looking forward to actually having what has been the core of my life in common with others, look forward to getting to know some of you and learn a lot more!!!

I'm so proud of you. You have shown a lot of courage to question their "medicine" for your daughter. I fed my mother "ensure" through a tube for the last three years of her life. It was total junk and I knew it but at age 16 I didn't have the wisdom or clarity of mind to challenge it. She was 5'8" and weighed less than 80lbs when she died.

Raw food is an exciting adventure and the I have found amazing research that shows that all food has a critical temperature that if it is cooked above it becomes a toxic material for our body and we will produce immune response/ white blood cells to defend itself against it....so it is not all about the positive benefit of enzymes as many people think. There is a thread here that I posted the link to some good articles "the science behind us..." is the thread.

I wish you the best and you will find a ton of support here, welcome:D

LOVE the screen name, of everything I've learned, if I could only take one thing and spread it around the world, it would be spirulina. 2nd in line would be sprouting, can't wait to get to that section!

We also tried ensure, just trying to get calories in anyway we could, the stuff is no good, now that I know how horrible processed, laboratory created nutrients and refined sugar is. Sorry to hear about your mom.

Thanks for the link, I'll definitely look for that,

thanks for the welcome!
