i have always had a bit of bleeding when i floss, pretty much as long as i can remember. the dentist always told me it was a pre-cursor to serious gum issues and to keep flossing to 'kill' the bacteria and eventually the bleeding would stop.

wellll, i don't floss as much as i should, but since being raw i have been doing it more, due to using my teeth to attack yummy fruit :)

i also switched to Tom's natural toothpaste, not sure if there is a better one out there...but anyway, the last few days of flossing. there has been NO blood at all. not even a speck.

also the whites of my eyes are super clear and bright.

the gum thing is pretty huge for me. it's ALWAYS been an issue. tonight i actually kept flossing more than normal, b/c i was sure it was a fluke.

but nope. it's all good.

(i have also been craving cucumbers like mad, and eat 1 or 2 a day. i read that they help inflammation. maybe my body was needing that nutrient to help fix things.)

toms toothpaste has glycerin in it, which prevents the teeth from re-enamelizing. (is that a word? :D )
i used it for a while and then got some horrid sensitivities in my teeth, so, watch out!

Also check out the oil pulling thread... I think that would help you immensely! and it is very healing and strengthing to the gums. I like to use coconut oil rather than sesame or sunflower...

congrats on the healthy gums!! THAT RAWKS!! :D

i just use baking soda! not every time though, usually just water (make sure to brush for a good amount of time though)... i dont want the baking soda to be too abrasive, but i use it once a day, sometimes every other day. my teeth have never been whiter, it makes it feel soooo clean. although im still having trouble with those two teeth, they still ache when you poke them and im getting a bit worried and wondering at what point to go and see a dentist
