well, i've been eating raw for about a month and a half now(was 80-90%-currently 100% raw) and i'd been having kidney/bladder issues since April. Just went to my natropathic doc on Friday because of serious pain in the kidney, shooting down in the groin area. Turns out it was kidney stones. He gave me my options and I chose the herbal tincture for the remedy and for pain. This helped for the infection and to break up the stones. Well, I passed some of it on Friday and then on Sunday I finished passing whatever was left.

I honestly say that I wouldn't have been able to do this at home without high dosages of painkillers if I hadn't been rawfooding it. Yahoo RAW:O) !!!
I feel so much better...healthier. My inner light is starting to shine through again- haven't seen it in awhile:p

Although I don't yet have Alissa book(it's in the mail enroute to me), this website has been an inspiration for me...hearing others stories helped me make my way through.
Thanks everyone for being so open and honest with your healing journey!

I read in an Edgar Cayce book that he suggested eating a raw potato everyday to prevent kidney stones.

Nini- there wasn't a brand, it was a home made tincture that my natropath prescribed. sorry I don't know more. but after I originally posted this, I found a website that shows you how to painlessly pass kidney stones. This person found, through their own experience, that the pain which people normally feel is actually from the pressure building up and not so much the stone itself. here's the link

Hope it's helpful:O)

Rawlicious: a potato? never heard of it, yet nothing surprises me anymore...hee, hee:p Good info.

Aililiu: Thanks! I agree:)

I have used the jump and bump method and it works! I have had several kidney stones and I think I still have one in there right now.

hydrangea and gravel root capsules will dissolve stones as well.

Unfortunately blacksheephybrid raw food is not enough to evacuate stones.

In fact our organism evacuate each day tons of crystals but it happens that the crystals become too big (kidneys stones)

It is possible to dissolve them by following a natural cure by combining specific food and herbs (http://kidney-stones-cure.com).
If the stones are really too big lithotrity may be a solution.

"Stone Free" by Planetary Herbals has an inexpensive herbal blend of gravel root, dandelion, turmeric, etc.

blacksheephybrid, I had kidney stones and found that - anytime I experience great pain - I get heart palpitations and sometimes headaches just from the stress of it all and the shock it is to my system. So, I'm not surprised you're experiencing that now. I am certainly not an expert, but that's my own personal experience.

I've been to the hospital three times due to the passing of a kidney stone. One trip to the hospital was made after a vacation in China where I drank green tea several times a day. Green tea, like many dark and leafy greens, has a high oxalate content. I believe it you are eating a lot of spinach and kale, etc., especially on the raw food diet, it may be contributing to the stone formation problem.

I found this website with more information on the subject:
