Does anyone know if the nutrient value of wheatgrass juice is seriously compromised if you juice the grass, freeze the juice, then thaw it out in the frige overnight b4 the morning you want to drink it?

Thanks. :)

I've frozen my wheatgrass and then put it in my green smoothie as a cube and then blended it. I do have a Vita-mix so it is easy to do that.

I don't think so...I buy mine already frozen in cubes.

Here's what I know about frozen wheatgrass.....What you buy in the HFS is typically second cut grass OR grass grown in fields outside. Any grass that isn't drunk fresh squeezed definitely loses some of its nutrition. Does it still have benefits? Certainly, but greatly reduced. But what are you trying to acheive with it? Never keep it on the counter or in the fridge thawing out overnight. Throw it in your smoothie frozen, or put in a glass and run hot water on the outside of it to thaw. I give this juice to my cat. I juice fresh grass and freeze it in the ice cube tray when I can't possibly drink all I have. Once frozen I put it in a freezer safe bag in the freezer. My frozen tastes loads better than any frozen cube I've purchased at the HFS. A very big difference in smell and taste. Do what you can....

I was talking about freezing my own juiced grass. I'm taking wheatgrass juice as a vit/min supplement (that's in addition to consuming a green smoothie w/an entire bunch of greens every day).

Great idea to throw it in a smoothie frozen--I was thinking, too, about sucking on it, instead of thawing it.

Thanks everyone for the responses! :)
