If a pkg of raw carob powder has been opened, do I need to refrigerate it? Or can I just leave it in the pantry? TIA. :)

I was wondering the same thing this weekend and I put it in the freezer so it would stay fresh. Would you recommend the refrigerator vs. freezer?

ooops!! http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s43/FireStar_830/thGood-Post1.gif ... I've had some carob in a plastic bag for 3 months sitting on my pantry shelf .... The last time I used it was about 1 month ago and it seemed fine... do you think it will go bad? yowza!! I'll put in the fridge when I get home from work. :o

I don't have a link EZrider, but I do know that the reason it is raw is because the pods from the plant are just ground up to make the powder......

wait I am going to visit google.....

http://www.alissacohen.com/shop/product.php?productid=6&cat=5&page=1
(ok i didn't go to google for that one.....)

http://www.living-foods.com/articles/rawcarob.html
(this one made me wonder a few things, read it for yourself, I am not one to exclude info....)

http://www.naturalzing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=279
(judging from this site, I am guessing that it depends on how hot the carob pods get when grinding)

it is truly amazing the info available on the net lol, but still it was annoying how I couldn't really find info on the rawness of it, just the sellers 'guarantees'

well thats a little info for you, does anyone have any better sites? I am fairly intrigued now :D

I like Natural Zing on the Internet for Raw carob- that's a good source.

I'm a fan of storing things in the refrigerator and freezer, in glass mason jars :)
