Hi all! I am just starting my first 30 day challenge (YAY!). Unfortunately, I have tried this before and haven't made it past the first day. Mostly because for me the first day is the HARDEST! Can all you experts just list some of the benefits that you have experienced since starting raw? Maybe specifically those that show up early! I know that there are older threads on this, but I also know that there are new benefits that are experienced by rawies everyday. So if you don't mind it, I think it could really help me!

Love to all-

Shari

Welcome ! I am not an expert but starting my 4th week raw. I feel wonderful, not just for loosing about 15 pounds but for the energy and feeling myself free up from cooked food addiction. The first week I was flying high even though one morning I slept till 9 ! I do remember eating marinara "pasta" 2 nights in a row as I felt I needed that sort of volume. It IS worth it ! Good luck.

Thanks so much! I feel like I probably have a rough few days ahead of me and like to know that others have gone through the same thing and have not regretted it.

Maintain perfect/healthy weight, regardless of whether I exercise.

No more mosquito bites (from eating garlic)! :) Use to get bitten like crazy & was hanging out with a neighbor one night & he was scratching everywhere like I use to & nothing was happening to me. He looked at me like I was crazy when I said it's because I eat raw garlic. I use it in salads, salsa, soups.

I can overeat and not worry about it. (not that I recommend it)

Lifestyle-wise:
Food is so much more fun when it's yummy AND healthy. :p
You should be able to eliminate or cut-down on doctor's visits.
No more cooking.
Don't need pots, pans, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker.
You always can provide interesting conversation.

Many more...

I'm no 'expert'. I'm nearing the end of my 8th week. The benefits I've had include symptoms of allergies (hayfever) are gone. I am no longer congested and my eyes are no longer severely irritated. No need to take anti-histamines. Sleeping much better. More energy. Glowing skin. I can have have desserts and they're healthy. Lost 17 pounds. Lost lots of inches. I had to go shopping because my clothes are hanging on me. So, I went yesterday and have gone from a size 8 or 10 to 6 or 8, even in jeans!

Early benefits -- about a week into RAW people started telling me how nice my skin looked ---and it wasn't ugly before! It just looked much clearer and smootehr on RAW. I lost 30 lbs. in 3 mos. and then another 8 gradually in a few months after that. In the spring I bought a new wardrobe of size 10 pants (down from 14-16). today I went and bought some new fall things ---size 8 pants and a size 6 skirt even! Amazing. I love eating healthy and delicious --soooo much energy, good sleep, peaceful spirit! keep up your good work!:D

I am now in my 47th day of all RAW and am doing very well with it. For me the key to making this work was to experiment and find the way that works for me. Its kind of like Thomas Edison when he invented the light bulb. Each time he failed he would exclaim that there's another way not to do it and he would know that he was one try closer to success. If you try and it dosn't work it dosn't mean you can't do RAW it just means you need to keep experimenting until you find what works for you.

What a great way to look at figuring out what works!

As for benefits, I am sooo clear minded and happy on raw! I did a pretty long run of 100%, but then since that time have gone back and forth somewhat. EVERY time I have a day where I eat stuff that's not raw, I realize how important it is to be completely raw! So, then I go back to only raw, and within a day the bloat and the clouds in my head go away. I don't know how better to explain it.

I have never had any major weight issues, and I don't have a scale, but I can tell you that cooked food makes me so bloated that I look like I have a belly, and raw food goes in, makes me feel great, and goes out in a normal time frame without the belly.

The mental fog didn't go away for a couple weeks initially if I remember correctly. I think I needed a good cleaning. :)
