Trying to up the raw, but every time i do, i end up with severely chapped lips, espesially around the corners of my mouth...i've heard this can be from B-vitamin deficiancy, but i supplement with a multi...my doctor gave me some Betamethozone cream in case it was a infection, and though sometimes it helps, the symtoms always come back, markedly when i have increased raw...anyone else experienced this as a detox symptom, and if so ho long did it last?

i had this my first two weeks RAW. i was so worried! it was almost like blisters that peeled, and they kept coming back! they lasted 2-3 weeks and gradually went away. i found just basic chapstick worked the best. my expensive sticks did not help at all:(
good luck:o

I am experiencing some chapped lips too. I am putting coconut oil on them.:o We'll see if it helps.

as far as I know (and I'm no expert...) but my understanding is that this could be a sign of needing Bcomplex. Dry lips and cracked lips especially in the corners of the mouth is specifically listed as one of the symptoms of deficiency. I have been taking a supplement everyday and also taking biotin along with the Bcomplex. Biotin works with (and needs) B12 and Bcomplex to work to its optimum efficiency ---
I started taking the bcomplex cuz I was going thru some VERY INTENSE aggrivated, irritated moods... dh couldn't do anything right - even his breathing was wrong!! lol ;) !!
Ive noticed since I began taking these two supplements together...
I am calmer. no irritation, no moodiness... dh can breathe again :D
and biotin is excellent for strong nails and healthy thick luxurious hair!

Me, too.
I am having this same problem. Trying to use alot of coconut oil on them and drinking more water and taking the B supplements.
Why this is happening, I don't know?

Thanks, everyone for your input!
Is a B-complex better to take than a multi, ya think??

I don't know if you're asking me, but I just take a Bcomplex. Really don't need anymore then that, I suppose.

Ya ... me too - I just take the Bcomplex and the biotin. Multi vitamins are a strange thing --- I've heard pros and cons about them. I've read some of the vitamin combinations actually cancel each other out... so its wasted. Plus for me - multivitamins contain vitamins A and E both of which I am highly allergic to.
my body seems very happy with just the b complex ;) ! Good luck!!
