Did any of you done this and if yes, what do you think about this.

I just came back from a Raw food Festival today and this was brought as an important thing to do once a month.

I AM wondering also where i can find more information about this.

Thank you for your time
Blessings

After thinking about it for years, I finally got up the courage to go get a colonic. I wish I hadnt waited so long. I've only gone twice but I feel like it made a difference. It's a bit pricey, otherwise I would do it more often. Since then I have actually become a big fan of enemas-something I was too uneasy and squeamish to do before getting a colonic. Now I do them very regularly at home. I think its made a huge difference in my digestion, cleansing and detoxing. Here's a link to the place I went. They have a lot of info on their site as well as a step by step description of the process.

Hmmm, I'm on the side of the fence that questions why do a colinic when eating such a highly cleansing diet that a raw food diet is? Besides, I'm also unsure about the good stuff that gets washed away also. I'd suggest letting the body do things in its own time. Ofcourse others will disagree but just wanted to mention it :)

I admit that i am still dealing with allergies, which i never had before. The cleansing with the tea pot did work and make it more comfortable.

Now if this colon cleansing work and help to clean that mucus that i have, it would be great. I seem to have a very good diet, so i don't understand these allergies reaction. My eyes are very itchy too. Maybe i am reacting to some raw food such certain nuts, i don't know.

I was considering to get the colon therapy done, but i would like to hear more about others experience. If this really cleanse my system, it would be worth it but i am still doubting and need to know more.

Thank you for posting and expressing your feeling about that.

i just had my 1st one ever today. wow. that was a weird feeling. i feel great, but i want to do it a few more times.

she said it was just the tip of the iceberg with what um...whooshed out.

anyway...there is a good reason why we should wait and let nature take it's course, but i rate my experience as a 10 in terms of detoxing. i am going back next week for round 2

After the food goes down the esophogaus and into the stomach and is broken down, it is the small intestine that absorbs nutrients. Once it is done, it then goes into the large intestine (or called colon) as leftover waste. The colon is the garbage can per se. The body is done with the food and is on it's way to exit. If, the food stays in there at 98.6, so called normal (yet, many long term raw foodists have lower body temperatures as "normal") then that food is sitting and sitting at 98.6 or whatever. Well, if it stays in there too long, it starts fermenting and putrifying, etc. If, it is sludge and cannot move quickly it can start coating the walls of the colon and slow it down causing the colon to get sluggish. Just think of colonics/colon hydrotherapy as a gentle hose spraying out the trashcan. You know we dump the trash bag in our kitchens regularly, but if something gets stuck in it, you need to wash it out or it starts to stink!

So, small intestine is where food is absorbed for nutrition and large intestine/colon is where the garbage is and the sooner it leaves the better! People report having clearer skin, clearer thinking, sleeping better, feeling lighter, etc.

You can google it, but John Wayne was autopsied and the doctor found over 44 pounds of waste just sitting in his colon. YUCK  that is too many steaks and potatoes!!

Just FYI ... the enemas are good, but just know they only get the bottom portion of the colon, whereas a colonic gets the whole colon. Dr. Lorraine Day said that when she was basically on her death bed and could not eat, she took wheatgrass enemas to gain strength to finally eat again.

Raw Princess,

Oh wow. The thing that scared me, is that i used to suffer from chronic constipation, until that i finally started to take psyllium fiber back in 2003. I might have some stuff build up still so i am looking forward to try this therapy now, i am still nervous in the same time but i have heard amazing stuff from Matt Monarch. He said the first time he did this, he had his third eye open. So what you share resonate with his testimony.

Thank you for your time

Hi! I've had colon hydrotherapy twice now and I am a big believer in it as well. It is taking some getting used to (obviously) but between that and the ionic foot cleanse I had last week I am shocked at how I feel. Amazing is how I feel. I figure I've got about 35 years worth of sludge built up and my "garbage can" needs some heavy duty cleaning. Heck, we clean the can in our garage once a month and that garbage is in plastic bags. Doesn't really even touch the can. Yikes for my colon!!

That's usually the typical argument that fits a SAD eater or the shortcomings in ones diet who can use colonics, etc., though. Raw fooders shouldn't be facing these issues, if they are something is amiss in their plans. Why some like Matt Monarch and others still promote it is beyond me.

I do not want to debate this since many disagree as many agree, and it's useless I would think in the end. Do what makes you happy at the point you feel the best ;)

Great point for an ideal world. Not everyone on this post has been a raw foodist for years, though. Many are new or have been back and forth from raw to SAD. Colonics are a great boost for those that want to get clean and stay clean. It is a fast way to lose weight, too. I suffered from constipation for 37 years and I am sure my colon is not perfect from all those years of abuse. Even on a raw food diet, I have to take enzymes at times and drink an herbal tea called "smooth move". Yes, even on a total raw diet, my colon needs help and cleaning out my colon is so helpful. You just feel freer afterwards, it is hard to beat. lol

Tanamawa, thank you for your input. I felt the same way and thought that we should trust our body that it will do the job. I think this therapy help to avoid side effect while detoxing. Matt Monach explained that when you are on raw food, you are constantly detoxing. Also, when we do this therapy, it is easier to stick to raw food.

I know that some stuff that may have happened years ago will come out through detox, because when we eat too much sad food or toxic food, our body will store this through our fat. When we go raw, our body will focus on priority and at some point will try to get ride of the toxic stored in us. I have been 100% raw for six month now, and i have allergies which i never had before. My only guess is that i am doing a major detox right now. I am hoping that this colon therapy will help to reduce that if not eliminate it. Matt recommend to do this every six month. I am not sure if i will do this, but i will first see with the first session.

Yesterday i was looking for something and i saw a picture of me during the time that i was drinking coffee, eating occasionally donuts, muffin and dairy. I was vegetarian, which help so much when i first become a vegetarian, but oh my, you should of seen the skin that i had. What a total difference today, my skin on my face is cleared now. With all of those dairy and stuff that i had through those years, drinking heavy water, being exposed to second hand cigarette, heavy town pollution and stress made many of that stuff stored in me. I have lost so much fat and cellulite is going away, i wish these toxine would get illiminated through my system but it is quite strong and coming in form of allergies, mucus and eye irritation.and having my fat gone, i can feel that stuff still in me and comming out.

Thank you for all of you for sharing, this is such a new concept for me but i am open.

I should be very careful voicing my opinions, but Matt seems to have an obvious "addictive" personality. If you listen to enough of his talks it comes more and more obvious to me I feel. He has stated himself that he has "issues" he must still address emotionally. I'd be fearful to trust him on something he does where most raw fooders don't do.

Again, no debate coming from me - Just some extra thoughts to ponder is all

you couldn't have said it better.. Last year I did a cycle of 15 colonics over a time span of a few months and let me tell you I NEVER FELT BETTER!! Lets face it NONE of us have been living such a clean, pure life that we haven't built up toxins in our bodies! Unless we never changed from "baby food" to adult food, we all have gunk that needs to get out of our bodies! Colonics aren't about getting new stuff out, its about getting all the years of built up stuff that was never released....

I give it a thumbs up...definitely a great thing to do
