If anyone has time, please check out my blog (below). I just posted a long one this morning and I guess I am just looking for some inspiration. Many many thanks in advance!

Feel that you're beating yourself up. How about give yourself more time to transition to being 100% full raw. Maybe you need give yourself permission to keep some treat rituals, such as the Saturday morning coffee with your husband. It would be better to drop the processed lunch and introduce a new treat like raw Kombucha or onion bread [even if you buy prepared raw breads or crackers it will be a similar price to fast food]. Trust at some point the 'treat rituals' will stop naturally. One of my friends was 100% raw except a baked potato each night for over a year. One day, she no longer wanted the potato and has been raw for over a decade. Be more gentle with yourself...
BEST of luck

Gosh april... I read your blog. aand... I'm not sure where to start.....
hmmmm... have you really searched your heart. Stopped and really thought about 'why' you chose to step thru the doorway and into the raw lifestyle? what motivated you to make that first step?
we can say many things to encourage you - but most of all --- you need to really be honest with yourself. What are hoping to accomplish by eating raw foods? these goals... how important are they to you?
Yes it is a very good thing to be eating healthier now and it is a very good thing that you are incorporating more raw foods into you life. I have always said... make healthy choices regardless of what you're eating...
but it's obviously bothering you ... or you wouldn't have posted. Yes you are very busy, yes you do deserve treats and special time with your husband... and ... NO YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO QUALIFY THIS TIME - OR EXPLAIN WHY YOU DESERVE IT! so.... why are yu? what is your heart telling you?
honeygirl... if you want a cup of coffee - have that cup of coffee with your hubby ~ enjoy it ~ enjoy him and time you have together... don't let that special moment get 'mucked' up with feeling guilty - or feeling like you have to explain. This lifestyle is about freedom - joy - laughter - adventure -- it's about sooo much more than losing weight or the food.... it's about life. TRUE LIFE... TRUE BEAUTY... healthy - vibrant living... it's about honoring yourself and loving yourself enough to make the decision to become the BEST YOU that you can possibly be.... (for you - for your husband - and for your children...) and do what ever it takes to get there....
the answers are within you... ;) breathe... and know that we are here for you - whether you transition slowly, or jump in 100%!
RAWK ON .... blessings april....

Bridle and Starfire,
Thanks and you are both right on so many levels. I don't think that there is a definitive answer other than to just do what feels right at the time--do what my mind AND body AND soul are telling me to do. I sometimes have to step back, just realize that I am being a completely Type A control freak, and say CALM DOWN, LIVE LIFE . . . and most of all STOP GETTING SO BOGGED DOWN IN THE DETAILS! But oftentimes, it takes other people to help me take that first step back. I know that about myself and that is why I sought help here--I knew you guys would come through.
Missy,
The way I make my smoothies is:
First, fill the blender with organic baby spinach (probably 2 - 3 cups), add ~1 cup of water and blend. Then I add 2 bananas, whatever other fruit I have (but I usually use pineapple cuz I love the stuff--maybe a cup or so?), 1 TB of expeller pressed coconut oil, 2 TB cold milled flax seed (only once a day), 1 TB honey, about 1/2 cup more water and blend. Lastly, I like em cold, so I add about 1/2-1 cup of crushed ice and blend again. Yum, drinking one right now! They are not what I would call 'hard core', but I think they are wonderful for me on many levels.

Hi there,
was wondering if you make these smoothies at a time and store them, if you do how long do you store them for ?
Cheers

Your blog seems just like what I go through. The same questions and everything! I think that the more raw the better, but many people still eat cooked foods and still have wonderful results with many items. I too, beat myself up over it. And I really have a hard time going somewhere or when people around. It's very hard when I have the tradition of bagels and coffee when my relatives come over. I totally understand. And EVERYTHING is about food-bad day, good day, birthday, celebration, break-up...whatever! It's so hard to not associate it. It truly is an addiction. And I too, am still on a mission to break it! Good luck to you! Am always hear to chat!

Basanti,
I have tried the 'make-ahead' thing, then store them in the fridge. But they get too thick for my liking and kind of separate. Perhaps other combinations of fruits and veggies would fare better for storage, but not the way that I make them--at least not for me.
