View Full Version : just starting - exhausted
Hi all,
I am only on day 3 of 100% raw, but the whole time, I have been totally exhausted. Is this a detox? I am also 15 weeks pregnant (I know there is a list for that) - and I am worried about toxins being exposed now, yet, I want to go raw for baby too!
I haven't eaten sugar or white flour (e.g. no alcohol, white rice, even honey etc) for seven years. However, I ate lots of cooked food and lots of meat. I was hoping I wouldn't have such a severe detox. I normally have good energy levels (I've been over the early-tired part of my pregnancy for a little while now).
any suggestions or encouragement would be very much appreciated!
thanks,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer. Welcome.
Perhaps you could tell us what you have been eating. Are you having any greens. Maybe green smoothies would help.
hi, thanks,
I have been mostly eating fruit, I think, but I do have a smoothie in the morning. it varies, but a typical one is what I had this morning: 1.5 cups of water, 1/2 a cucumber, 1/5 an avocado, 1TSP spirulina, 2 TSP hemp protein powder, some chia seeds and some coconut and a squirt of agave nectar. sometimes some fruit, some kale, some celery (I've been doing these longer that the 3 days 100% raw). today also had a decent sized serving of broccoli soup, recipe from Alissa's book as well as nibbles of other raw stuff. I've been SO tired today, that I feel sick, I left work at 3:30, came home and slept for an hour. I'm trying to figure out what to eat now, and I may go back to bed soon... also, as I said, I normally am pretty energetic! this is making me worried that maybe I shouldn't be doing this.
thanks so much for your help

I would suggest that you keep it simple for a while. Either mono eat or even some simple juices.
Are you hungry.
this is strange, but I _think_ I'm not hungry. I do get hungry, and then I eat, and I feel satisfied hunger-wise. in the evening, though, it's not so clear. right now I just feel crappy - my allergies have been very bad today, and I suspect that is contributing; still I don't think it explains all of it. I'm exhausted, feeling kind of bummed, even have some slight stomach pain.
can you tell me exactly what you mean by mono eating? I don't have a juicer, so I'm not sure I can do juices. do you mean JUST juices?
thanks again
;)

Is it possible that you are not getting enough water.
Mono eating is where you make a meal of just one thing. I have just had 3 mangos. Your digestive system finds it easier to deal with and frees up more energy for other things.
YES!! I have been thinking that I haven't been getting enough water! but not consciously enough to actually think so, if you know what I mean. I am on that as soon as I write this.
good on the mono - that's per meal. I was afraid it was all day or days or something.
thank you thank you thank you
off for water.
