What do you all think about food grade glycerine for a sweetener?

Why would you use a drug when you can use food for sweetening? I'm confused?

I did not know glycerine is considered a drug. I was just reading a candida cleanse cookbook while waiting for someone and noticed that the book uses glycerine to sweeten things. I was wondering what you all know about it. Revell since you seem to know something about it, could you please explain? Thank you!

Rosie,

To me, anything that is processed like that is a drug. We have honey, agave and dates which are perfect foods for sweetening. When one is 100% raw, one needs not fear candida as Alissa, I, Jinjee and many others can attest to from personal experience. We've all stated that as long as we're raw, candida/yeast infections are not a problem.

Those who are not raw (don't know if you are or not; speaking in general here) will often look outside of natural foods for "healing". There is no better way I know of to heal oneself then naturally grown fruits, vegetables, greens, seeds and nuts; conscious movement, water, sunshine and appreciations.

Hoping that helps,

Revvell

Thanks so much Revell. I am mostly raw. I had quite a few slip ups in August and early Sept., but now I am fully on the badwagon again and it feels so good. I want to try and be 100% but am having a hard time knowing what seasonings I should or should not include in my diet. That is why I thought I would inquire about glycerine. For three months I thought I was 100% but then read some posts about nama and braggs not being raw and balsamic and agave so just trying to clarify all the info. Thanks again for your response.

try stevia if you are trying to stay away from honey, agave, etc. i believe you can get the whole herb low temp dried

Hi again, :)

Well, I wouldn't be too fussy at the beginning about seasonings, Braggs, Nama, agave and such yet, I can understand your dilemma now. Why is Nama suggested when it's so processed? Mostly because even though it's a "living" food, it's not raw. There is life in it. Braggs has been deleted for most of it because no one, it seems, can get a straight answer as to the process...

There is no life in glycerin. Balsamic and agave... well, I use both.

As far as glycerin goes, imo, it's totally dead. Just a drug.

Does this make sense at all? LMAO!

Thanks to everyone. Yes Revvell you totally make sense! And I do have stevia I actually have a huge plant out in my front yard, it is not only tasty but beautiful. However, I find that it's sweetness is not complete so I like to use it in addition to other sweetners. Thanks again for all the info.
