Ok, so I was about 90% raw the last couple days and the gas and cramping started, again. The digestive enzymes help with this but I really don't want to be a raw food person who has to depend on supplements at every meal. I even made sure I only had about 1/2 cups worth of raw nuts yesterday. The rest was fruit, veggies, and a smoothie (and a baked potato). True, this is the wondeful week of passover where I'm nibbling on matzoh here and there...which doesn't help the digestive system. But I really don't want to lose valuable night's sleep because of cramps (like I did last night) as a raw eater .

Any ideas. I don't want to be discouraged already!

The advice I would give is to just be patient for now. I had a lot of digestive problems when I first started raw and it took awhile for my body to get used to all the roughage. Every time I ate I would feel bloated, get gas, cramps. This went away after a month or so. I'm still tweaking the diet to see what works for my body but those problems have mostly gone away. I've found that if I don't drink liquids with meals, and let one meal digest some before I eat again, I'm okay.

Also, see if some of the food combining rules help a bit. For some people they do, others don't see a difference.
