Hello All,
I've been lurking here for a while. My girlfriend and I have been 100% raw for the last two months and the results have been amazing. I wanted to go raw because I didn't have the energy to do all the things I need to do. I work more than a full time job and I have a small business as well. I just didn't have the physical or mental focus/energy to work all day and then work on my business at night and on the weekend. On top of that I'm an avid scuba diver and I like to dive at least every week and more when I have time.
I had to give up an extreme coffee habit and after the first week I've never looked back. My energy is up and my mood is much more even than it's been in years. Everyone I know is asking me what I'm doing and telling me how great I look. I had a woman at work ask me what I put on my skin because it looks so good. I had to tell her nothing as I drank my water and ate a fudge ball.
We have Alissas book and make many of the recipes in there - it's given us the ability to have a variety in our diet that we need in order to stay 100% raw.
I've eaten stuff lately that 6 months ago I would have bet you I would never eat - ravioli made out of tunips? Right now I'm just coasting along and not even thinking about eating anything else. Today I sat in a meeting across from a guy who ate a filet of fish sandwich, a bunch of fries and a giant coke for lunch. All I could think about was how sick he was going to feel in an hour (and what his arteries must look like). I have always been a pretty health conscious eater but I don't even consider that kind of food anymore.
This site has been a source of strength when I felt weak early on and information when I have needed it and for that I'm grateful. :)
