I have noticed that since I have been raw, my cravings have changed dramatically. Before, I would crave sweets and bread. Chocolate or cookie dough or just bread was a really strong. Now, I find that I am now craving sour, tart, and salty. Sweet things are almost too sweet for me now.

I have never in my 38 years craved a banana. In fact, I could go years without eating a banana. Now I can't get enough of them. What have you done to me, banana??

I crave fruit, mainly watermelon!!!! YUM!!

Ok, I have to be honest and say that I am not anywhere near 100% yet. I heard a clip of Alissa where she said she advocates her clients to go 100% right off the bat. I am still craving cooked, so this is probably why... :(

It changes everyday just about. Yesterday it was avocados. I ate about 3 of them.

I was also craving ice cream so I put frozen bananas and strawberries through my Omega, top it with nuts and YUMMMMM! the best icecream ever.

Eggless egg salad. I have to wait to make it until I've made bread/crackers or I just ravage it with a spoon.

for the past 2 weeks or so the ONLY things I want are ...

watermelon and spinach green smoothies w/a tiny bit of pineapple and and extra handful of baby greens mix

HUGE salads of romaine, tomato, cucumber, green onion, green beans, and sometimes sprout w/oil, vinegar, and lemon pepper

and grapes

That's IT! Nothing else sound even remotely satisfying lately! :p

I generally don't crave things, but the foods that appeal most to me are celery, tomatoes, onions, peppers and sometimes carrots.

Avocados (which I was allergic to in my SAD diet) they would make my lips swell severly, but raw, I eat 2-4 a day right now with sesame seed oil and raw soy sauce (making up for lost time)it's becoming a joke at work, people can smell my lunch. Then they laughed at me when I asked someone to pick a couple up for me at the liquor store, they literally laughed and looked at me like I was insane, I had to put them in their place and remind them kindly that our local liquore store has a deli which carries chopped watermelon, avocados and apples. Imagine their amazement!

I've only been raw for 5 weeks, but every day I can stuff down a ton of sea vegetables (seaweed?) I stop when the sodium intake screams ENOUGH.

Hmmm.... Lessee: GREENS!!!! Collards, kale, mustards, turnips, chard. Okay, okay! I fess up; my family is very much southern & grew up eating greens a lot. I figured out how to make 'em just like my grandma's only raw & WEEEEHOOOO! So, yeah, I crave greens. :D I also crave goji berries on occasion - the occasions where I don't have any in the house because I ate 'em all. :p

Seeing as how fall is setting in, I'm starting to crave sweet potatoes & winter squashes. And did I mention that I crave greens??? I've also been craving lately fettucini alfredo - the raw kind. I tend to eat that a lot - with greens. And tomato soup! I made some awesome tomato mushroom soup the other day & had to add a couple of large collard leaves to it since I was craving greens, too. And of course, sometimes I just gotta have chocolate, so nibs are a staple in my house....

Over the last month I've experienced certain cravings that I believe is my body's way of directing me to certain healing nutrients. Such as
- orange, banana, coconut butter shake
- seaweed, lots of seaweed
- green lemonade
- five tomatoes in a row

Okay, so how does one make raw greens taste like one's grandma's greens? Hmmm?? :D Pretty please?? :D

Okay, so how does one make raw greens taste like one's grandma's greens? Hmmm?? Pretty please??

The "quick way": wash & up cut greens (yeah, hand chopping's the way to do this one - not too easy to describe how it's done, but it is quick!); put geens in a bowl & add olive oil, cayenne powder, onion powder, garlic powder, salt & a dash of Bragg's - not much on the Bragg's or your greens WILL be too salty. If that happens, just wash & cut up more greens & add them in! :D Add about 1/2 t. red seed pepper & mix everything into the greens & let them marinate about 1/2 an hour to an hour. I can post the "long way" if you'd rather, but that'll have to come later. I have to figure out how much fresh stuff I'd use in the recipie. I make them this way when I'm in a hurry & on my way out the door. Sometimes I leave out the seed pepper & just go with the cayenne powder. The cayenne is just enough to add warmth without heat; that's what the seed pepper is for! :D

around this time before my period, it would have been chocolate anything. instead it is pudding (avocado, agave and any other fruit. if i want tart, i add kiwi, if i want smooth, i add a peach. i tried tomatillos today. odd little fruit.
definitely a cross between a tomato and a granny smith

:p I LOVE Alissa's Zucchetti & Marinara, but to the zucchetti, I make a pesto with Organic Cold Pressed Olive Oil, soaked pine nuts, 2 cloves of garlic, fresh basil & parsley and some Himalayan pink salt. TO LIVE FOR!!! It's so good that I crave it often. Also, the pesto keeps the zucchetti from getting soggy. MMmmm!!!

Love,
